The Pickled Sisters Cafe
We were a large group and the service was excellent. I have always enjoyed the Pickled Sisters food and was not disappointed this time. I had the duck and it was delicious, moist and tender, my only complaint there wasn't enough!! but in reality it was the perfect size for lunch. Everyone of our group enjoyed their meal. Thanks Marion and your staff for making our visit once again enjoyable.

We made a point to stop here on our drive from Melbourne to Canberra - it's well worth the short detour from the highway for a great meal that's a cut above roadside fast food.Service was quick and friendly with no compromises as the food was excellent and there's a fabulous wine list highlighting surrounding local winemakers.

Stunning location in the heart of historic Rutherglen. Pickled Siters has long held an enviable reputation for quality local produce and fantastic local wines. Now located in the main street in Rutherglen, close to other local boutique shops.Food is sensational & staff are super friendly

We booked dinner for a Saturday evening in mid June. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and shown to our table in the outside enclosed seating area. This area felt so intimate, and charming. The availability to partake in some competitive board games while waiting for our food was a fun addition. The decor in our seating area had such a cool vibe to it.We really loved this area. The wait staff were super friendly and attentive. Our meals arrived quickly and did not disappoint in presentation or taste. My partner had the barramundi, cooked to perfection while I chose the wild mushroom risotto with grated blue cheese. Both were delicious. Do not go pass the dumplings with warmed chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream, this was the perfect ending to our meal. If there was anything to mention regarding our experience it would be perhaps to reduce the frequency of visits to our table from the wait staff. Overall we would not hesitate to dine here again or recommend The Pickled Sisters Cafe to others.

Had a lovely meal, the Duck was the best I’ve had for a few years thank you. You catered for our friends nut allergy with no fuss and with grace. Would highly recommend and I will be back for the Duck. Denise.

We had mixed feelings about trying this place, as it was very busy and the prices were on the higher side. Happily, we were blown away by the quality of the food - everything we tried was an absolute winner, and the beer and wine lists have some great local gems. The courtyard area is beautifully lit at night. It was quite busy and loud with Christmas get-togethers, but the service ran smoothly. We’d absolutely return! Would love to see a few more vegetarian options, particularly a share plate.

What an absolute treat! The food was delicious, the service was friendly and swift. It was really tough to choose what to eat but it was clear there were no bad choices - only wish we were dining with more guests so we could have sampled more dishes.I forgot to photograph the dessert - but the lemon myrtle ricotta donuts were a sensational end to our feast along with an excellent array of tea options! There are lots of lovely spots to visit in Rutherglen but we were so happy we chose The Pickled Sister. The staff were very kind to us dining with our bub in the pram. Many thanks to Sara and her charming son for making a rare chance to dine as new parents so enjoyable!

The staff were great and the place was eclectic. The mains seemed a little small, just needed a bit more.I had the pork belly. The pork belly had crunchy skin and juicy meat. I enjoyed it but I think it needed something a bit more acidic to make it 5 out of 5.I enjoyed the Ameretto sour and pink grapefruit prosecco.Unfortunately, we didn't get to sit at the side garden area.

Very nice menu and extensive wine list. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of seating inside and in the courtyard.Nice in the warmer months but a bit chilly in winter owing to the stripped back interior.

Had a great visit to the Pickled Sisters. We had booked for lunch on the basis that they were serving baked sardines which my partner loves. The menu was so interesting but as we only wanted something light we had the winery platter as well. The whole cafe has a lovely ambience - I am sure the courtyard would be my favourite spot in summer. We will definitely go back next time we are in the area.
