I've gone from a commercial gym to a different private gym to now Powerhouse and I have to say it's the best. The equipment is brand new, there is at least two of everything and each machine has settings that allow you to hit at least two different muscle groups if you want to adjust it. The staff, particularly the owner goes out of their way to be really helpful and supportive and even at my previous gyms (one of which prided themselves on a friendly environment but failed to deliver in my opinion) I hardly got as much friendly acknowledgement from the staff as I do from this gym. There are canned preworkouts and protein shakes available in vending machines and there's even an attached cafe that mixes up some pretty mean preworkout drinks too. You can stock up on supplements from their huge range, and nothing seems to be 'pushed'. Another great thing is it being 24 hours with a massive carpark at the back. The bathrooms are great, the lighting is perfect. Overall it gives off the impression that they've thought of everything and more.Some things to improve on that don't have a huge impact on my experience or things that I think people should know. Firstly, the music is very loud. I used to wear airpods in the gym but from my first day this was impossible. A lot of people manage it, in fact the majority of people training alone have earphones in but whether they are noise-cancelling I don't know. Fortunately the playlist wasn't bad but I bring it up again now because the playlist currently is really odd (a club remix of Adagio for Strings is definitely interesting). Secondly, it is very busy past 3pm and Stafford itself is a nightmare to get to at school pickup time. Any time before 3 you are guaranteed not to have issues finding a machine though. Probably the biggest issue is that it gets untidy very quickly and I have only once seen the staff doing a lap fixing things. Ideally gym-goers should keep it tidy, but when all the attachments are piled up on one machine or the weights are all put away oddly it definitely slows down a session.Overall great gym. Can't fault it on anything other than ambiance and things out of its control. About 4 friends have joined on my recommendation.
