Gundy Recreation Grounds

Contrary to former commentators, we found the rec grounds to be -Beautiful.Quiet and peaceful.Amenities were clean and well maintained.Showers were hot and had shower lotion provided.A range of bins for rubbish, recycling and deposit containers.We saw Willie Wagtails, green and aqua parrots, finches and White Tailed Black cockatoo.We must thank Iain for coming out on a cold, frosty evening to show us around.Two suggestions, however, non slip mats and grab handles in the showers might be helpful.

The grounds are nice, well mowed and the place has the potential to be a great camping spot but there were a few things that could have been done better.The toilets were not very clean. We were advised to camp in a particular area due to a large group also being there so cleaning the toilets prior to a weekend would have been a good idea.Toilets at tennis court end were not marked male and female, men had used toilets previously and left them needing a clean. Having 2 small girls using grubby toilets was not hygienic.$25 a night is a little steep, especially being charged that after a large group had a 21st birthday party there on the Saturday night and kept us all awake until after 3.30am. Loud music and yelling/screaming idiots had our whole group awake until after the other group finally shut up and went to bed just before 4am

Best place to camp, bonfire, bathroom facilities clean. Pub with friendly staff.Worth to stay few nites.
