Great little gallery tucked away in a little corner of Braddon. I got to attend the ring making class there and it was a fantastic experience. Ingrid who led our class was such a great teacher, patient and obviously very talented. They also do custom jewelry and stock hand made pieces from a heap of independent makers. Just a really cool day and a super fun experience.

If you are a lover of fine contemporary jewellery, or seeking a gift for such a person, Kin is the place for you. Ingrid, the owner, is passionate about supporting fellow jewellery designers and manufacturers. As well producing gorgeous custom pieces herself, she runs jewellery making courses in the gallery after hours and I have found her to be a warm, patient, knowledgable and enthusiastic instructor with a gift for passing on her wealth of skills and experience.

Not only is Kin the best source for beautiful jewellery of all kinds from local artists and makers, it’s also where you can learn to make you own silver treasures. Workshops at Kin are friendly, fun and with professional coaching from Ingrid I learned the basic skills to make different kinds of rings set with gems. I think silversmithing might be my new obsession! Classes are offered on weeknights, or as one-off workshops on Saturday. Book early to save a place as they are very popular, and totally worth it.

Kin did a great job sourcing and setting a sapphire into my Grandmothers ring, which I’d been holding onto for some time. They kept me informed, gave me options and were wonderful to deal with! If I had found them earlier, I wish my husband and I could have done one of their ring workshops for our wedding rings. Worth seeking them out for special occasions!!!

We took a workshop at KIN Gallery with Ingrid to make our wedding rings, and we're so happy with what we made for each other! We thinks it's really special that we've got personal handmade rings that you can't buy anywhere! Ingrid was so helpful in guiding us at the beginning to help us figure out what we wanted to make. She was a very patient teacher even with two total newbies who had never made any jewellery before. You'll be surprised at the quality you can end up with when you have a good teacher - we were! I made two separate rose gold and silver rings, and joined them together to make a two toned ring for my husband. He made me a rose gold ring with a hammered texture. The classes are such a great gift idea, or a bonding activity before or after you get married :)
