Purple Hen Winery

a bit over priced on the wines.. service was not the best it was like they wanted you to buy and leave.. nice view of the bay around the island. apart from that I could buy a couple of bottles for what I paid.

As a part of my Sperm Donation Australia tour of Victoria, I headed to Phillip Island on Good Friday, expecting most things to be closed. I stumbled across this little gem of a winery nice wines at $20 per tasting. Get some decent pours to allow you to really taste any enjoy the wine.

Loved our experience here. The lady who served us was so friendly & accommodating. The sparkling Shiraz is very good, and the cheese board & other food was also very good. Thank you for a lovely experience on the island, much appreciated.

People Hen Winery is well worth a few hours of your time.My wife and I went out for a tasting. The facilities are nice and the way they work the tasting makes it more like a nice visit to a bistro rather than the old way, standing in a shed next to a bar." Very enjoyable experience. Delicious grazing plate and wines.Helpful friendly staff who took the time to give us a tour of this beautiful winery. Plenty of great outdoor seating to take in the awesome views.Loved the gift shop and cellar door too with a great range of gifts for everyone.., again helpful staff member made time for an interesting chat.We'll definitely be back.

If I could give negative stars I would .. the disgusting behaviour of the older gentleman (and I use that term loosely) owner was beyond reproach. We phoned ahead to make sure they had space for us and was told there were only 2 people there .. when we arrived 20mins later it was very busy .. so that was bizarre! We ordered cheeses etc and asked for some water while we decided on tasting some wines. We (4A) sat down inside. The owner then came up to us and said that we needed to move outside (it was freezing) as we weren’t drinking and inside was for people doing tastings ..! He did not ask if we were going to taste any wines - the way which he spoke to us was disgusting - he was rude and non apologetic. When we finished looking at each other like wth just happened - I went up and asked the owner to please cancel and refund our cheese platters .. he did this with such an attitude he virtually through the money into my hand. As a visitor to Australia I was appalled at this winery owners contempt for a customer and I certainly would not recommend you patronise this winery!

Friendly staff, great scenery and wine

We stop at several wineries a day on our trips south. Atm the only thing this place has going for it was the setting, lovely outlook. They had 2 young kids behind the bar, had no idea, while friendly, no real info on the wines and if you have a tasting and buy a bottle, don't expect to walk out of there for less than $80.. makes it very expensive exercise.
