First National Real Estate Woodgate Beach

Do not rent from this real estate!1. In our time there the only a/c failed. It was 30 degrees, there were no other air cons in the place.Without it the place was a hot box. I contacted the real estate, They said no-one was able to come and they would not move us. We were welcome to leave but that was 'on us'. We had the choice to leave with the rent money taken by them anyway, with no returns/refunds, or stay and swelter. Thankfully It fixed itself within the day with no help from them.2.When we arrived the place was dusty and had an odour in certain parts, like in the toilet and front door area, a bad smell of BO. There was an old dead cockroach in the mop water bucket in the laundry. The laundry was dirty, dusty.3. There was proof that they entered the place when we were not there, once for sure, maybe twice. Total Invasion of privacy.4.One month and a half later after we leave our short stay there, we receive a very nasty email from the owner of the place saying that they 'were very disappointed that we were not a worthy tenant' with two angry emojis. No mention of what it was that upset them, just a horrible email sent. Were told to leave the place neat and tidy (which we did!-sent proof with photos and the owner was happy with the condition) as they had cleaners come in anyway on our vacate as it was a holiday rental. Have no idea what we could have done wrong as did everything right by the owner and agent. Just a truly vicious email sent for no known reason.

Well where do we start..Originally we had organised to have a property reserved in their diary with a deposit to be paid in 4 days time, told that yes that is all fine and not to worry. 4 days later we get told that no it's now no longer available because someone else had come up with the full amount and basically too bad so sad.We found another more expensive holiday rental that we settled on through this same agency.Upon arrival we had found that the air conditioning unit was faulty. When the agency was called we got told that they knew about it and there was nothing they could do. It would have been great to be told this as we have a pregnant friend who needs air-conditioning. Once again, too bad so sad.On our last night we had ran out of gas. A phone call to the agency resulted with no assistance except a lousy apology.You would think it wouldn't be too much trouble for the agent to pickup a full gas bottle from the convenience store and drop it around. On a Sunday afternoon I guess this was too much to ask.As we regularly holiday in woodgate we usually go through either of the other 2 real estates in the area. This has just reaffirmed our choice to stay well away from First National.Never again.

Stayed at a place on the esplanade. Wanted a relaxing holiday so payed decent money for what we thought would be a good place. Amazing location and house. Unfortunately the real estate was beyond disappointing.Arrived to find previous tenants wet towel still hanging on the inside of the main ensuite door. After inspection of the main bed it was unmade under the quilt and there were multiple hairs which were not ours in the supposedly fresh bed. The description for the house said linen and towels provided and some other surprises. The 2 towels provided on the main bed ended up being bath mats. I was thinking the surprises may have been a bottle of wine or a box of chocolates. Not dirty towels in the bathroom and someone else’s hairs in the bed. I was expecting better hygiene after the current pandemic. Some evidence of sanitation would be nice.I was willing to let these things pass until I went to fire up the provided Weber bbq at 5:30pm Saturday arvo. Was planning on cooking a roast but the bbq gas bottle was completely empty. Beyond disappointed.Absolutely disgusting.

I would not trust this real estate agency as a host on air bnb, nor with my investment property. They do not keep the properties in good repair or well maintained. I would not trust the photos they put on the internet to advertise as they are misleading. The property I rented had red blankets covering damage that was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. The property was not clean, I had to wash an entire beds worth of linen, clean the kitchen bin as well as dishes. Glass around the place was disgusting and none of the fans at the property really worked at all. I have written to the real estate two weeks ago requesting a formal dispute with a 3rd party and as yet they have not responded. They are very unprofessional and have an expectation of clients that they themselves are not prepared to deliver on.

Have used First National for the last 2 1/2 years when booking Holiday Accommodation - they have made my job so much easier whilst booking all rentals neededHighly Recommended and will continue to use when booking in WoodgateThank you Michelle, Patrick, Fiona, Caroline, Shannon and all that I haven't mentioned :)

There were a few things wrong with the place that we stayed, all liveable but thought we might pass along some feedback. When returning our keys and giving the feedback we were met with snarky remarks and dirty looks from another worker. Very rude boomers.

What a very professional team they have at First National. We have been dealing with them for a number of years now and nothing is ever too much trouble. We were up there this past fortnight during the heavy rain, we reported a small problem at around 9.30 am and the tradesman was there to fix it at 9.50.am, wish we had that service at home. NOT RECOMMENDED: Felt ripped off by these people. Paid a $200 deposit on a pet friendly rental house to discover that their idea of pet friendly is that the dog can be left in the cold, wind, heat and rain in the back yard. I soon cancelled but was not given my money back. AVOID these people.

We bought a house at Woodgate through First National and were really impressed with Patrick - he seemed to know exactly what we were looking for. Since then, Michelle’s team have managed the property for us and are very responsive to us and our guests, with great feedback from tenants. We love coming up to Woodgate - can highly recommend the team at First National for any real estate needs (and the occasional scone!)
