LM Motors - Repco Authorised Car Service

I called up in regards to an issue with my car, I can't remember who I spoke with, but the guy was really helpful and forthcoming with information to point me in the right direction with what my car needed. I've clearly not had great experiences with other places, telling me to bring the car in, and charging me over $150 just to tell me they can't do anything about the issue. Thank you so much!!

When I went to collect my vehicle, I was told that work had been done to make the vehicle roadworthy. However upon picking up my vehicle and checking it once I was home, I found the services I was charged for were not completed at all.

Car had done 30K towing with no oil use then took the vehicle to LM for the 300K service. They used the incorrect washer for the sump - should have been a crush washer and not a non crush standard flat one - with consequent massive loss of oil. An 'oil leak' was recorded on the report but it seems it was their gift to us. Taken to Volks Work Cairns who supplied the correct washer and a new sump plug and checked for oil leaks elsewhere and none were found. I expected better from Repco and L M Motors after reading their great reviews. I rang to discuss the issue and to let George know that a Touareg requires this type of sump washer but he was argumentative and defensive on the phone, criticised me for taking the car to a non-Repco mechanic, questioned whether the car needed a ‘special’ sump washer at all and offered $100 off the next Repco service in Australia then abruptly hung up on me. After a $415 service, his workshop’s error cost me another $168 at the Volkswagen specialist plus $45 for new oil. This was probably money well spent. The oil pan was also damaged on the vehicle consistent with someone using a cold chisel and hammer to remove the old sump plug. I can only guess when / how this happened. This damaged sump plug was refitted to the car by LM Motors. When asked why I didn’t take it to get sorted under warranty through Repco I replied that I did not trust their expertise in knowing to use a specific type of part for my car. That my experience at his workshop suggested that I take my car to a VW specialist in future.In response to your disingenuous reply, George, I attempted to discuss this with you but you were aggressive and hung up on me.

Great service. Friendly staff who explain all the needs of our car

No care, slack customer, charge like wounded bulls and your tax invoice shows too many “miscellaneous “ charges !! They ripped our mother off for years without us knowing. When we discovered what she was being charged, she could have bought a new car !!

Excellent service for reasonable price! They fit me it last minute, as in an hour after I called on a Friday. Lovely staff and didnt get treated any differently for being a female.

Took our ranger here for a service and not only was the service extremely expensive, we were told that our bash plate had a bolt missing. When we took it to ARB down the road (as it was a special bolt) the guys there told us the plate was not re-installed correctly, a second bolt was missing and all of the bolts were loose. Poor workmanship as oil was all over everything. Also special mention to the owner/manager who was pretty rude and had the personality of a brick. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND and based on other reviews on various pages I should have done my own research as poor feedback is common with this business. Wish I could leave no stars.

I've been going to LM Motors for years now and they have always provided me with a great service for a good price. George is always helpful, identifies the problem quickly, and then goes out of his way to provide cost-effective options (like sourcing second hand car parts where possible). Other service centres don't compare in my view!

My vehicle was reviewed the same day that I called and upon determining the extent of the issue they provided timely advice at no charge. This was the second time I have used this business and I highly recommend. Thank you LM Motors
