The Front Room Newtown

I love this cafe for brunch and afternoon milk shakes. The flavour combinations are out of this world, and the food comes out quickly.Staff are always really friendly and helpful.There are plenty of different places to sit for table service. There is one accessible toilet stall at the back.

You can learn a lot about a restaurant when they are busy.I stopped for brunch at 10:30 on a Sunday morning after seeing the high reviews of this venue.Restaurant was about half full, plenty of seating available.Waiting staff seemed to be frazzled. It took more than 5 minutes and multiple attempts of flagging the staff down before I was able to get a menu.Coffee came pretty fast, it was hot and a decent coffee... The food however, well more the service of the food was a huge let down.It took more than 30 min for more that my order of avocado smash on toast to be delivered, this was after having to flag down the staff and request that they find my order.While I’d normally attribute this to a place being busy, it wasn’t. Seems the staff were letting the team down as I saw a meal sitting on the pass for over 5 minutes before it was picked up and delivered. I imagine this person got their meal cold.The people seated beside me were a little more patient. They ordered the same time as me, their meals were delivered just as I was finishing mine and I notice that there was a lag of 5 minutes between each guest getting their plate.The food was tasty but the wait leaves a bad taste.They may be better on weekdays but for a Sydney cafe I’d expect the staff to be more on the ball.One reason for this seems that the staff were prioritising food for delivery? Lots of food in boxes being served, little actual plates. Balance needs to be found.

The Front Room Cafe is one of many cafes in Newtown which we didn't try before. Our orders were prepared very quickly and they were delicious as well as very generously portioned. Coffee was very good and we enjoyed the whole experience very much, excellent breakfast. Hope to visit again soon so we can try different foods..

Went yesterday and was amazed with the atmosphere. Excellent acai bowl and a tasty haloumi burger. Service was quick and staff were friendly. Definitely recommend if you're around Newtown and are in need of a good feed.

The Front Room has the BEST coffee in Newtown, the best service and the nicest staff. What’s not to love? What more can I say? Oh yeah: another coffee please!

I have never been here in person but I've ordered from The Front Room on Uber Eats multiple times. The fresh orange juice is delicious, as are the other drinks - smoothies and coffee shake. Yum!My only criticism is that the Sunshine Bowl, while absolutely delicious, is way too big and therefore half of it ended up in the fridge and then the bin. It would be amazing if you could make a smaller serve at a slightly cheaper price or even have two size options.Will be ordering from here again for sure.

Service and food at the Front Room is always on point. Staff are amazing, service is fast and food very tasty.They do an awesome hot choclate made with melted chocolate..delicious!

Regulars at this amazing relaxing cafe. Food is outa the world. I loved mushroom toast-the best i have ever had,the chicken burger & haloomi burger is best for the affordable prices. The Asian staff is very friendly & generous.Taking a star off as it looks like new management has taken over & new man out in front was not friendly & there was a tense vibe

Mushroom dish and açai bowl had large portions with fresh ingredients. Great coffee and friendly staff. Incredibly reasonable prices.
