The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne

The Royal Dental Hospital offers excellent and professional dental service. My wisdom teeth extraction surgery went smoothly. It's mostly public dental care but paid private patients are also accepted here. Make sure you arrive at least 20 minutes before the appointment as the reception might have a long queue.

What a great experience I just had there last Saturday! It was worthy of the long wait. I am very embarrassed I didn't ask for my dentist's name and his assistant. I just want to say Thank You" for the amazing job they did with the extraction of y wisdom tooth. It was a burden I carried for long time. It was going to be quite a difficult procedure because the tooth was too close to the nerve but my dentist nailed it like a champ. I just wanted to recognise the superb job that the Royal Dental Hospital does. Your efforts aren't taken for granted. Please

I was referred to this place by royal children's hospital and pediatric specialist but the doctor here didn't even have a proper look at my child's teeth. They straight away said you need to see the pediatric specialist but that's where we came from. Then they started making excuses about us not having a health care card even when we are happy to pay whatever it costs. Then another excuse comes in that we will still have to wait 6 months to be treated when it's an emergency. Just ridiculously worst service

My daughter had her 1st appointment with a dentist. She was so scared and seeing the dentist. We got the most amazing child friendly dentist who made my daughters’ fears disappear by cracking jokes and making her feel at ease, which made mum feel at ease too. He told us everything he was going to do before he did it and even got my daughter to help by holding a mirror while he looked in her mouth.He provided me in depth information about what next steps to take and giving us options and also giving us his personal option on what option to take in relation to my daughter’s pain threshold.The waiting list is a long time but if you can wait I highly recommend to do so as you will not regret it.AMAZING STAFF ALL ROUND!

I had a great experience yesterday at the hospital. I came in at around 8am and was seen within 15 minutes.I had a really bad abscessed tooth infection that required a root canal. I was given all the information I required and was seen by Jasmine who was a student dentist. She did a great job at explaining everything to me and providing my root canal treatment. I felt safe, cared for and had a very positive experience.I would highly recommend this service to people requiring emergency dental treatment. :) It cost me nothing as I was seen by a student which was also a plus! Thank you to everyone!

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed with the Royal Dental Hospital and I could not be happier with the experience. My surgeon, anaesthetist and all nurses involved in taking care of me were so kind, comforting and knowledgeable, and considering how nervous I was initially, I felt very at ease after meeting them. Thank you to all involved! :)

The staff were amazing: warm and friendly at all times. My sons wisdom teeth removal was a smooth process. As we were from a town 4 hours away the nurse said she would try to get us into surgery first so we could get back on the road sooner, this occurred and we were home in good time. My son was cared for in the best possible way. Nurse Michelle is truly amazing.

Amazing, brought my 4yo son in in an emergency and within 2 weeks we had his major appointment. (The waiting list was years) the nurses and doctors were amazing as well as the dentist! Thankyou for making my son have a great dental experience!
