Absolutely amazing!We've been here twice, and the food was exceptional both times. The karaage chicken and the miso eggplant are a must try!The sushi is fresh and melts on your mouth. Everything was really, really good!Will come back soon for a third round :)Thank you for the experience - and atmosphere.

Absolutely brilliant! Have been twice in two weeks and can’t wait to go back. Last time, we ordered a feast of Main Sashimi, Karaage Chicken, Agedashi Tofu, Tempura Prawns and Salmon Sushi Rolls with friends. Everything was prepared to the highest standard at very reasonable prices. The sashimi is the cleanest tasting we’ve ever had in Australia. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the tofu was silky. The rolls and prawns to finish off were just fantastic. Service is a very high standard and food arrives promptly. The chef / owner is to be commended for this hidden gem he’s opened in McLaren Vale! The only photo I have was half way through our order because we couldn’t wait to eat!

Perfect secret location for an excellent Japanese meal. You can order anything from the menu and everything will taste great. The service was top notch and waitresses were lovely and friendly! The Karaage chicken was crunchy and tender, not dried like any other Japanese restaurants. The sushi was perfect, great texture and tasted fantastic. The fish platter was great and fresh! Would definitely go back again to this cute little restaurant hidden on a train!

Have been here twice so far, and both times have been a very lovely experience. It’s a very cozy area on the the old train cabin. The staff were very kind and helped with finding a good drink to have with our meals.The food is fresh and you can definitely tell by the quality.Just make sure you book in since there are limited seats! Highly recommend coming here if you love sushi and Japanese cuisine.

We had a great evening, we were served up fantastic authentic Japanese food. The sashimi was a highlight being very fresh as well as the beef tataki and aburi sushi roll. The train car atmosphere and great customer service made it a most enjoyable experience.

My new favourite Japanese restaurant! What an absolute gem of a place. Came for the unique dining experience of being in a train carriage, will be back for the incredible food and service. We got a little too excited over the menu options and definitely would have over-ordered, but the chef was kind enough to help us order a more reasonable amount. He was right, even after culling a few items, we left absolutely stuffed! Just means we'll need to go back to try the rest of the menu! ;)

Everything was exceptional. The sashimi was of the highest quality, cut expertly, served at the perfect temperature. Karaage was also a standout, lightly and perfectly seasoned with a crispy potato starch coating. Curry mayo with the chips. The old train has booth seating inside but we sat outside on the deck, surrounded by the trees. Service was really fast and friendly.

Excellent Japanese restaurant with a unique environment of being in a train carriage. The staff were very polite and helpful. The food is good quality and what you would expect at its price (would not say it is above average for bang for buck). The food does take a little long to come out. Would be the best japanese food you can get in the Mclaren Vale area.Pictured: meat lovers set, fish lovers set, california rolls, sashimi entree

One the best Japanese food I've ever had. The sushis, chicken karaage, deep fried eggplant were probably the highlights. Only two staff handling the kitchen, counter, and service.. which they did amazingly. Small place to better call before showing up.

Intimate restaurant located in a very old train carriage. You get to sit in a original train booth with comfy seats and wonder about all the different people that rode on the train many years ago. Food was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted lovely and fresh. Portions were generous. Husband and wife team running the restaurant were delightful. Kitchen is located at one end of the carriage where you enter the restaurant. For such a little kitchen the chef sure does produce very tasty food. Did not have to wait long for our meal. Shared three dishes at lunch time, Karaage Chicken (sorry, couldn't wait to dig in so picture only shows the last piece), Prawn and Vegetable Tempura (includes two prawns) and Chicken Teriyaki. Yum Yum Yum. Couldn't stop thinking of the lovely flavours long after we left. Would've gone back the next day if I didn't already have plans. Can't wait to try some of the other menu items on a future visit. Meal cost $68 for our three choices, small rice and two drinks.
