Salvos Stores East Maitland

Remains a clean well organised store, prices have increased,no purchases on this occasion. Of note there is now a Lifeline in the same area to also look at

I'm terribly sorry but to me there is a lot of overpricing for second hand clothes.. I won't buy them..

Today I went and donated some items instore at Vinnies in East Maitland to avoid donating at this store. In the past the staff have been incredibly rude whether I have been donating or buying. I was after a particular item today so I decided to drop in to the Salvo's anyway to see if they might have it. Wow.... What a difference! We walked in to be greeted by the lady behind the counter and the counter space was bright and clear. You could tell that something was different. As we looked at the racks another lady greeted us. I took the opportunity to ask if something had changed as we'd never received such lovely customer service there before. Things have indeed changed! The staff were all friendly, were doing their jobs and not talking to each other. You didn't feel like you were constantly being looked at and the place was so lovely and bright compared to how dim it looked before. There was also definitely an increase in the quality of the goods on the racks. If you have sworn to never visit this store again, go back in and check it out!

Nothing of value to be found here. Like all the stores of this kind staff pick out the best items for themselves. Many things are overpriced. Some stock should just be thrown out all together. As I understand it if these stores want to sell second hand electronics they have to have them tested by an electrician, Salvos are too poor for that apparently so no worthwhile electronics ever turn up. I wouldn't say staff are rude like others have but overall what the store offers is disappointing.

Clothing is reasonably priced, if you look for the right brands. $150 for a 720p tv. $35 for a pop vinyl. $5 for video games you’d pay $1 for at CEX. It might be hard to find a bargain here on certain things.

Tried to drop off some high quality clothes (cue dresses, sports craft pants etc.) and was told that they aren’t accepting donations.Please update your website so people don’t drive 10km. Cheers.

Those who do not find it so, I can only say they are most uncharitable and undeserving of this fine merchant. I know for a fact that the majority of the staff work overtime for no remuneration, and when you get to know them you are, quite frankly, amazed at the love and compassion they invest in their work. Their store is aesthetically well presented, and Hella is always happy to make one's shopping experience tremendous. Five stars and more!

Prices on the higher end for an op shop. Lots of their clothing is priced with the Salvos Boutique tags so they never go on sale. Because of this the stock rarely changes.

Bought a suit here for a fancy dress. Price was $15, charged me $40, when I questioned them they checked the price. It was marked down on the coat but not the pants. Had 2 prices. No problem. They didn’t argue just charged $15

One of the better op shops for clothing items and there are some other nice items as well to be able to purchase and support the community. Also able to give away old items.
