Lake in the brickpit is an amazing emerald green. Only happens once a year (4nov2018), see it while you can. Best viewed on a sunny day to see the glowing effect.

Brickpit Park
Very cool place. This pit was dug so they could get clay for bricks. The water you see below the ring walk is the recycled water used in gardens around Newington. Newington is the suburb that was the Olympic village for the 2000 Olympics. Interesting place and being on the ring walk high up above the water is cool.

This is Sydney's answer to the Grand Canyon. It's basically a hole in the ground with a steel structure in the shape of a ring that you can survey the man made pit.In the middle of the pit is a pond where Green and Golden Bell Frogs are said to live. I didn't see any but around the walk there are speakers that blast out the croaking noises and information boards to tell you the history of the site and about the frogs.A beautiful and tranquil area - good to drop by during the day if you want a quiet break from the Easter show or from any event that's happening in Sydney Olympic Park. It's just 10 or so minutes away from the stadium and the arena.

Lovely walk around a great piece of Sydney's history.Great to see what they have done with it and how they have transformed it to an estuary.

Safe structure to view and listen the voices of snakes, frogs etc from water beneath. Peaceful short stroll with a few lookouts and seated spots. Looks over the quarry in Olympic park with various information plaques of local flora and fauna in the area.
