Yeronga Montessori

We enrolled at Yeronga Montessori after becoming unsatisfied with our children’s previous day care. This was the best decision we made for our children.From the moment we first had contact with Yeronga Montessori we have found them to be extremely accomodating open and honest. The staff went above and beyond to help us find a place for our children and continue to do this each day.The staff create an amazing calm and soothing environment for our children. Our children love attending here and absolutely adore the staff. From Ms Gladys, Ms Ina, Ms Lorna, Ms Ritu, Ms Joanna, Ms Myra, Ms Ana, Ms Tsega and Ms Alex they have all contributed to enhancing our children’s lives over the last year. So much so I increased the days our kids went because they love it so much.We have found the amazing staff to be approachable friendly and welcoming. Even staff that are not in our children’s room are able to provide information to us at drop off and pick up about our children’s day and answer all our questions of which I ask multiple questions each day. Our children love the staff. They will often say things like Ms Ritu is my friend and will run and give cuddles to the staff in the morning.The staff encourage and foster our children’s interests and likes as well as providing new opportunities to experience and learn new things. I’m amazed at the stories or facts our children come home and tell us. Our children have definitely reaped the benefits of such a dedicated and wonderful team of teachers.The centre uses the OWNA app which we have found very user friendly where we get daily updates and pictures. And every now and again we get individual feedback on how our children are progressing and what the staff will continue working on with our children. There is a calendar which we can access to see what is coming up. So we are informed each step of the way.We couldn’t recommend Yeronga Montessori more highly. We are so grateful to all the staff for how hard they work and how much joy they seem to get in caring for our children.

The educators and Yeronga Montessori are amazing. They are kind, loving, professional and patient - all great qualities in Educators! Our child hasn't had the greatest time transitioning into childcare but they have allowed us to trust their process and feel comfortable along the way. We have seen many milestones and changes in the months that our child has been there and it is credited to them.

My child began attending this centre in the kindy after it changed owners at the beginning of 2022. Our experience has been very disappointing in comparison to other centres we have been enrolled at before moving to this area. Communication is almost non-existent. No one ever answers the centre phone or responds to emails. Staff never offer information in person during drop off or pick up and some do not even greet parents. Staff fail to retain even the most basic communications, such as 'please note we are picking our child up early today'. Management is often hands-off and rarely even present at the centre. Early this year we were shocked to be told when dropping enrolment days that we were not allowed to keep our preferred days (we were already enrolled in) because 'it was better for business to attract new customers' to have a vacancy on Thursdays and Fridays. This attitude truly exemplifies the centre. They clearly care very little for the needs or desires of families. Finally, I have had concerns on numerous occasions when my child has come home deeply upset because describing whole group punishments. For example, when a tea set was broken, all children were lectured at length about respecting property. The first time my child told me about this, I assumed it was an exaggeration or misunderstanding. But then on another occasion I observed a staff member lecture my child about a water spill she did not make and force her to clean up before I could take her home because she happened to be near the scene of the crime. At the time, I chalked it up to a misunderstanding, and assumption that Montessori ideas about responsibility were the justification. But then other families shared similar stories from their children about what sounded like excessively harsh and age-inappropriate reprimands, often delivered to the entire group over what I perceived to be minor incidents. I suspect this may contribute to our child's strong aversion to attending this centre. We have given notice to withdraw after coming to the conclusion that this centre lacks the emotional warmth, consistency, and family-friendly atmosphere one should expect in early childhood education centres.

A really awesome childcare centre with one of the best outside area we've seen around.

We absolutely love yeronga montessori and highly recommend it. My son started when he turned 2 after being at two other centres from the age of 8 months. Every drop off at the other centres was extremely difficult but within 2 days at montessori he was settled and so happy to go to the educators in his class. I could see right away that they really cared about the children. My daughter now goes too. All of the staff are very patient, hard working and caring and we love receiving daily stories and photos.The centre has always been accommodating to our changing needs and all the staff are extremely helpful. We look forward to the next few years at the centre.

My son attended Yeronga Montessori from 2 to 3 years. We have relocated and have consequently moved from Brisbane so can not continue attendance. Our experience has been very positive. The staff are all genuinely caring, well trained, experienced and suited to their roles. The atmosphere is calm and loving. I believe my son has had an excellent first year of education at Yeronga Montessori and I am very sad we can not continue there. I highly recommend the centre and believe they absolutely provide a high level of education, not simply daycare.

My partner and I moved our children to the centre in June 2022. Having our children attend two other daycares we were impressed from the very start. The centre was calm and there was no chaos like we had observed from other centres we had attended. Our eldest was experiencing behavioural issues from the previous centre due to the lack of education and not being challenged. So much so we considered holding them back and repeating Kindy for another year.The staff at the centre have nurtured our child’s naturally curiosity and love for learning. The staff have worked considerably hard to engage both our children and us as parents. We feel they have fostered a strong independence for both children and life skills that little people need to feel empowered.The spirit and ethos is a credit to the staff and their values are reflected in their day to day activities and we truly feel this has set up our children for successful learning in the future. So much so that our eldest is ready for prep.We feel grateful for all the hard work that gets put in and cannot recommend this centre more highly for your little ones.
