Great food, great hosts, great atmosphere. The pub looks fantastic with the updates done by new owners. Really recommend the drive to experience a true country pub.And the beer garden is an awesome place to relax.

Great Country Pub with amazing steaks and ice cold beer. We ordered Tbones and this pub certainly did not disappoint. They were cooked to our liking, tender and just melted in your mouth. Staff were lovely and welcoming, will be back soon.

Absolutely fantastic service, great food and attention to detail. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Had the Thai beef salad which was fresh, aromatic and delicious. Also had the cauliflower tacos which were also scrumptious. Will be back again and we have certainly recommended it to others.

Had dinner and drinks with a group of 6 at the Cumberland for the first time since the new owners had taken over. The hosts were terrific, happy and engaging, the beer was ice cold and fresh, and all of the meals were perfect, not a single complaint. We’ll be back again for sure!

Beautiful old pub with a comfortable atmosphere and excellent service staff. Our meal took a bit longer than we expected but in fairness, they were extremely busy and seemed a little short staffed. Our meals were good, very generous sized and our drinks were reasonably priced. It would be great if there were some dishes available as smaller" serves for lighter eaters

It was like coming home!! The team are ever so inviting. An authentic country pub. It’s small but grand both in atmosphere & customer service. The staff ensured you felt welcome & part of the pub family. I will definitely be making the 2 hour drive to visit again. I look forward to coming back (hopefully really soon)Never change for anyone!!!

We loved our meal at The Cumberland Smeaton today. After hearing rave reviews in the local community, we decided to pop in for lunch. The service was prompt and friendly and we would definitely recommend the Chicken Parma, Chicken Burger and Lamb Cutlets. The Apple cider was a great compliment to our meals, not too sweet and perfect in the hot weather!Caleb and James you’ve done a great job and we will definitely be back!
