- Great place for camping or day trip. Great for kids.(Possibly $10p night car fee).- Toilets(always byo toilet paper just in case)- Free gas BBQ.- DIY water pump direct from river water.- Walkable caves.. short but fun.*Take note of map on South side toilets for more caves. Only short dugouts but Soo many to explore. - Great history. Cemetery.- PLUS working gold mine.Fun fact: 2000 Olympics gold came from here .

Wow Ophir Goldfields Reserve is just simply gorgeous. Great for fishing, camping, walking tracks even for those of us with walking sticks and caves. If you want somewhere to camp I definitely recommend this place. We're going back to do just that. So much to see and amazing history.

One of my favourite places to be! Married here back in March 2021 and have camped here for both mine and my husband’s birthday’s. It really is a beautiful spot and a great campground! Lots to explore in the area with the old gold mine tunnels and walks around.

Beautiful place to camp! Lots of shady areas around the main camp area, right on the creek. Flushing toilets but no drinking water.Bbqs and tables free of use. Great for bush walks, swimming, fishing, camping and 4wding. One of our go to spots for a quick camp. Around 30 mins from Orange. $10 per vehicle per night, cash only.

Beautiful spot and dog friendly which is great! It's only $10 a night which is totally worth it as it helps maintain this campground. The historic mines are amazing and so much wildlife, I got to see a turtle, microbats, lizards, snakes and countless birds. The only downside is someone has dumped their old caravan down there and it is surrounded by garbage and is taking advantage of this great spot. It obviously makes others uncomfortable as no one was setting up their camp anywhere near the caravan which is a waste of such a great spot.

A short and relaxing drive 28Kms out of Orange c/w unsealed roads gets you to this beautiful spot on the river. There are limited options for camping and gas BBQs. There are 2 designated walks of which we enjoyed number 1. Although offering interesting insights into a bygone era the track is poorly maintained and not always easy to follow; a bit of orienteering is required. The track is barely 2km long but allow a couple of hours to find your way and explore the diggings.

Quiet (Tue) green grassed campground (permit applies), with flush toilets (BYO loo paper) - Didnt see water (we had our own, so not really looking) . Easy drive in (last few km, except for descent into valley, are gravel roads in good nick), water a few cm over the weir. Interesting walk past the mineshafts (with torches you can visit the ones just downstream of the camp, and others up on the hill). Historic plaques tell the story of the area on the 2km circuit walk, although some direction signs missing (AllTrails map very useful). Bring a goldpan!Lots of places to lose young children!

This is a great place to camp and have a pan for gold , there are walk in mines just up the hill , walking trails if your feeling more like a good hike bbq's and some permanently covered areas for picnics . The toilets are in good order, You have to pay for camping at orange visitors centre before you camp
