Ovens Street Bakery
I have been a loyal customer of several bakeries in the area, and I must say, the bread and pastries at Oven Street are truly delicious. However, the nonchalant and disdainful attitude displayed by some staff members can make you feel intimidated. During a recent visit, they served our pastries on dine-in plates but provided take-away cups, resulting in unnecessary waste. This seemed contradictory and could have been avoided with more attention to detail. A few days ago, a staff member was completely unfamiliar with the pastries on display and showed no interest in seeking assistance from another staff member. As a foreigner, I have become accustomed to repeating my name or order multiple times, but the staff members there appear even less willing to understand a different accent. Their lack of enthusiasm and disinterested behaviour really make customers feel undervalued. These bakeries have managed to retain a loyal customer base, even during times of inflation and economic challenges. However, it is crucial for them to recognise the valuable contributions customers make by purchasing their goods. It is only fair to appreciate a minimum standard of customer service in return. I hope that the management takes note of these concerns and implements measures to improve customer service.

A long queue here (a lot of mutts in the queue). But the TAC (toasted almond croissant) was very good. Intricate layers and crisp as anything. We got a rye sourdough to takeaway; I had it with blue cheese and green apple and red wine a day later. Obviously that was a great idea.

I had an unfortunate experience at Oven Bakery today. I ordered a plain croissant with butter and asked for it to be heated, but the lady refused because there was not such request.I have been to Oven Bakery before and have always had a positive experience. On those occasions, my order was made to my specifications and with great service.I mentioned to the lady that I usually order my croissants this way in their store, but she simply said, We don't do it today!" without providing any further explanation.I am disappointed with the service I received today and hope that Oven Bakery will take steps to improve their customer service standards. As the best croissant store in Brunswick

Pizza by the slice per weight. Good stuff. Bread also decent value.Bit awkward ordering , need better system to see what they have instead of crying into the tiny corridor thing. Also our server was very aloof and not interested.

Parrallel to Sydney Rd lies the microbakery @OvensStreetBakery where I got some pastries:Kouign Amann - layers of lovely light pastry with a slightly sweet glaze, very tastyFruit Danish - coffee and oat mixture for some extra punch amongst the strawberry and custard filling, surrounded by a delicious pastryPotato Pie - just needed a touch more salt, the warm comforting potato filling is very enjoyable in the thicker pie pastryBasque cheesecake - I'm very partial to cheesecake and the Basque version is excellent, as too this version.Online orders to beat the queue and coffee is available too. Limited seating available.#bakery #breakfast #pastry #kouignAmann #fruitdanish #potatopie  #basquecheesecake #dessert #sweettooth #melbournefood #brunswick @zomatomelb

Delicious pastries - genuinely in the top 3 in Melbourne! Order online in advance to skip the (very long) queue. Coffee is good too. Limited seating. The only downside is each time I’ve been, the staff have been pretty unfriendly. It’s literally always super busy though so maybe they’re just stressed!

Ovens Street Bakery is a micro bakery in the backstreets of Brunswick, just a few steps away from my office. It is my favorite spot in Melbourne, not only because the make super tasty breads, pizzas, sandwiches, toasties, jam filled donuts, pastries, but above all because of their super friendly service.A big shout out to their entire team! Whenever I go to Ovens Street Bakery, they make me feel home. THANK YOU!
