Morwell River Falls Reserve

Beautiful unexplored waterfall. From the road it's about a 10 mins walk to the fall. You can go really close to the fall & there used to be a swing near the fall, but it's no longer there. There is also a track to view the top pool section of the fall. You can also find some nice quiet spots along the Morwell River river to camp.

Beautiful spot to visit. Only about a 15 minute walk to the waterfall.

Approximately 165 km from Melbourne CBD & about 50 km from Taralgon, Morewell river falls reserve boolarra, is indeed something like a hidden gem. You can easily go past this place and not know it existed, until you come across the signboard. There's a fair amount of walk involved on steep uneven ground and wooden stairs/steps which can be very slippery on wet or rainy days. But once you make it to the waterfalls, the views are just breathtaking... with only the sound of the waterfalls breaking the silence of the wilderness which surrounds the area. On a dry/sunny day this place is ideal for an outing/picnic and best avoided on wet/rainy days. Certain amount of fitness would be beneficial here.

Excellent waterfalls to visit. Best part is that you can get as close to water as you want to. Swim, take photos, enjoy. Short but steep walk from car park, slippery at sections but not hard at all, just watch your steps. Drive in through gravel road, really well maintained so no issue for any car in dry conditions.

A bit far but easy to reach and a short walk to the waterfall. Beautiful place surrounded with high forest trees and the waterfall temperature is icy but good to dip in during the hot summer days. Nice place to have picnic with family.

Apretty spot to go to. Make sure you have the right footwear as the track to get to the falls is a little rough and does split into different directions. One takes you to the top of the falls and the other to the bottom and then there is another in-between.

One of the best waterfalls I've ever been too! We got some amazing photos, so lucky to have something so close to home.

The track to get to the waterfall is a simple hike, the terrain is simple enough for kids as well as adults of all age groups. The track can be very slippery on rainy or wet days so have to be very careful.Went down the main track and to see the waterfall front on, took about 40min to and back to the main entrance.The views were great. It is a small waterfall so not much else to do around the area. Personally wouldn’t drive up unless I was living locally or visiting the region

If you love waterfalls then this is a nice one to add to your trip if you're visiting the area (we also went to Narracan Falls). It was mostly an unsealed and windy road, but it was in pretty good condition so an easy drive in and out for a 2WD.Enjoy a short walk through temperate rainforest to the falls, but some agility is required as there are sections that are steep and slippery. My kids (10 and 6) managed fine. You can view these falls from the top pool, as well as from the bottom. You can get right up next to it which is nice, and during the dry season I think it would make for nice paddling or to wade across to the other side and there may have been a bit of a river walk but we weren't able to explore that option on this visit.This location loses a star because 1) there are no toilets 2) the walk is very short and not in a circuit (which I personally prefer) and 3) there is NO reception so, download your maps in and out!
