This is a good place to come visit if you are spending your holidays nearby or just passing by after beach. We visited this place recently for a coffee and missed something from the old times (ie after recent reforms) when it was more like a ‘beach pub’. The new version aims at a trendy atmosphere by the beach and succeeds somehow.

Really good coffee. Great space too. Wish I knew it existed ages ago. I’m sure it’s great for a late arvo drink, serving up the local bells beach brewery.Staff are lovely, and the couch is comfy!Absolutely love the artwork around the place. Nice touch!Totally recommend this place for breakfast/lunch if you want to get out of the hustle of Torquay and still enjoy great service and excellent food and drink.Thanks and I’ll be back for sure.

Absolutely fantastic meal. The chicken dumplings were so good we ordered a second serving. Really nice cocktails. The only issue was we were waiting a while for some of our food but it was so delicious we didn’t even mind, and the staff were kind enough to take this dish off the bill without us even asking them to or mentioning the wait at all. Absolutely will dine again.

This is an excellent, clean, hospitable and top Victorian business and I definitely recommend and encourage travellers to experience this restaurant. As for my experience there were some glitches which I’m sure are easily managed to avoid in the future. The attendant kindly apologised because their printer got mixed up and they forgot my order so I received the lamb ribs and pork boa 50 minutes later. I hadn’t booked a table so when I arrived I was instructed to sit on the bar bench which was not comfortable. I asked if tables were available and there wasn’t any. I recommend booking before visiting. The sparking apple juice had a funny taste I wasn’t able to finish it but the cocktails I saw customers had ordered looked amazing. The bao and lamb ribs were excellent, fresh and perfectly cooked and served. The vibe and atmosphere and the prices are all within the value range. Cassava chips are pre-made and is served below the room temperature. So will definitely visit again but won’t try cold cassava chips.

Got tagged on a all you can eat dumplings Facebook post, booked in straight away as I eat dumplings nearly every second day and it was a close drive to home. Great service, good prices, good beers BUT THE DUMPLINGS!! best I’ve ever had and I’ve been craving them every day since! I will definitely be going back just for those

We had a delicious dining experience at Bird Rock last night. Great food (lots of choice) and wine. Friendly, helpful service. Nice ambience and also family friendly. Highly recommend and we will return.

The food was delicious however the service was less ideal. It’s hard to judge as they seemed extremely busy when we first arrived, but they didn’t properly clean the table after others left before seating us, one of us had to go in and ask if we could order after a while of waiting for someone to attend to our table and it was extremely hard to get anyone’s attention the entire time we were there. I kind of forced myself on someone at the end and she seemed really stressed, run off her feet and got me a take away container which I was very grateful for. That said, the food was really great, no complaints there! Pictured is the crispy eggplant and a rice noodle salad. We also had some delicious dumplings & pork belly bao.

Great vibes, staff friendly and food came out super quick even though they were busy! We would recommend the lamb ribs (watch out for bone shards though), the eggplant, chicken dumplings (pork weren't as nice) and the ginger beer! We didn't rate the pork bao or lettuce cups. Will try other dishes next visit!
