I ate here on a Wednesday evening 7pm with my family. Cute venue, plenty of charm and clean. There were approximately 40 patrons. We were travelling through and we were all eating light. We shared the Mixed Leaf Salad With Persian Fetta, Chickpea Soft Shell Tacos with fermented bean dressing, Wild Mushroom Arancini and the Onion Rings with chipotle mayo. The salad was the best of all the dishes. It was well dressed with a generous serve of crumbled fetta. Good acidity. Both the arancini and the onion rings were perfectly fried. Light and crisp. The arancini (serving of four) was lacking a little in the flavour department, but the accompanying roast capsicum relish got it over the line. The tacos (serving of two) were served cold, by design I believe. They were a healthy choice. Acceptable, but not so flavoursome that I would order them again.Order at bar, table service 30 minute wait, $47 for the lot.Beer on tap and good choice of wine. 3.5 stars. I’d go there again.

Agree with all the other comments. The service is kind and super fast. It seems the chef's are really experienced and get things done very well. Nice local Katoomba beer as well, close to the train station and the shops. And the interior is like a travel through time. Really recommend if you are looking for pub food in the area. The schnitzel is great and portion sizes are big enough even for sharing.

A quiet little historic pub. Ordered a steak pie which was pretty tasty and authentic, would order again.Partner ordered a shnitty which was well over done, thin and definitely wouldn't recommend. As for the staff, a smile would be nice. Overall, average experience but has loads of potential.

I love eating at pubs and this pub met the same expectations. Friendly services by smiling waiters and waitresses, big food proportions and prices that are reasonable. We came in a group of six - four adults and two kids. We ordered:Beef and Ale Pie2x BarramundiPrawn FettuccineGarlic CobChicken Nuggets and Chips kids mealBeef Burger kids mealMy Prawn Fettuccine had 8 medium size prawns. The only let down was they put so much capers that it made the dish salty and pushes the dish flavour out of balance. The barramundi my wife had was well cooked and not dry.

Ordered the Porterhouse Steak MR with mash potatoes and vegetables at the bar and felt I like I was an imposition. My steak arrived quickly but was very overcooked. More WD than MR. The veges were eggplant and capsicum. Very strange accompaniment. However the pepper sauce was delicious.I'd didn't eat most of my meal but was still hungry so I ordered the Karaage Chicken BitesIt came out and was mostly batter that wasnt cooked and the chicken smelt funny and overall had no flavour so I pushed it away. A staff member came to take it away and asked if the chicken was raw. And yes it was.I've been here for lunch before and it was great but this place is now a huge Steer Clear for me.Their kitchen practices are a big problem.

Staff were lovely, but food was shocking.$26 for a small plate of pie and veggies and mash.Mash was “instant”, the kind you just mix with water. Pie was frozen and heated up via microwave or something similar, pastry dry, meat all sunk to the bottom as it was heated, as I ate it half was cold and half super hot. Veggies were fresh, but cold, like they had been cooked in the morning and hadn’t even been warmed up at all. Broccolini covered in salt.My partners chicken schnitzel was “okay” but he still couldn’t finish it and he normally finishes his plate. Half the chips were great! Other half were hard. The salad was drenched in a French salad dressing and soggy. The gravy was “good” (I didn’t taste it).

Burnt schnitzel gluggy mashed potato. Husband had cold vegetables with hot pie, pie was good though. Waitress got upset because I asked for extra lemon to cut through the burnt schnitzel. Overpriced and not very nice.

Nice old bar, comfortable and quaint. Limited beer on tap, food pretty good. The sweet potato fries are delicious and you get so many for the price. However I would sack all the staff. They appear miserable, talk to each other and leave you standing there until they are finished. Just stand around looking bored when no customers asking for drinks. This place could be so much more with decent staff.

This restaurant was highly recommended by our tour guide. However, I think it was not for such any kind of commission related thing.Restaurants looks really old-style of Australian restaurant so you can feel a restaurant of old style one in countryside.Staffs were really kind and food were even really nice. One more advantage here is price is also reasonable. I strongly believe that you will not regret.I think Australia is really a heaven for food-lover. nice beef, good atmosphere, and so on.——-I visited here while I was under tour for blue mountain.
