Happy it was open when we stopped by! The man running it was so friendly and insightful. The museum was good and we purchased some lovely items in the gift shop.

The place was not open to the public, I wish it was. I did my own tour and it was a very emotional experience knowing that these families were massacred on their own land. I hope one day these people can heal. There are artifacts of life as it once was before colonisation.

We were hoping to visit the museum on Wednesday morning but found it closed. A man approached us while we were looking in the windows, saying that the Museum has been closed for many years due to lack of funding and staff. Several of the local Elders who had previously been involved have gone walkabout." It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed following the trails to Mersey View Point

Was very disappointing. No guided tour available when we went, weather was atrocious, but we struggled round the trail trying to make head or tail of the petroglyphs - we couldn't. Don't waste your time until they improve it, is my advice.

Tiagarra offers insightful guided tour of the Museum and near by walking track featuring ancient rock markings.Tours need to be booked through their website.

To appreciate and learn about a culture, it has to be accessible. Nobody seems interested in keeping this site open. Maybe the building could be repurposed for something more popular. Pity. We settlers want to learn about the first Australians, but nobody seems bothered enough to keep the place open. Maybe an indigenous group could help out?

Tours are by booking only, i HIGHLY RECOMMEND booking a tour!Taking the walk with guides helps you appreciate little things you might miss. They give interpretations of petroglyphs carved into rock faces, and point out some of the amazing plants and their medical, spiritual, or nutritional uses. They are happy to answer questions you may have, and are enthusiastic with people who are eager to learn. The museum has beautiful murals and lots of examples of tools and weapons, and the materials and types of rock used for them.
