We used to come to this place for chips. The burgers were never good and there is no huge variety of salads.Today we tried fish. The calamari rings were good, the chips wasn’t that we expected.The board says that the fish and chips comes with lemon but we didn’t get any. I asked the cashier and she said they don’t have lemon. The fish was too oily, at least the sauce tasted good.Cannot see any reason to come back.

Conveniently located on one end of Coogee. While service was friendly and menu options were many, I just needed a quick snack of potato scallops. It was oily. Really too oily. Taste was good. Just too oily.

The best fish battered barramundi I've had in a while. Two well sized fillets battered and deep fried to order. Best thing is you don't have to get a whole Mountain of chips with it which I don't eat anyway. It was cooked to perfection and they also have the option of other fish like flathead cod salmon etc. Worth a visit if you haven't been here before 4.

Really not sure why everyone is so harsh. We've been twice over easter and on both occasions it was pretty good. Grilled Barra and chips was lovely and tasty. My partner was impressed with his battered fish - crisp and not too dense like lots of batter can be. And they are one of the rare places that do gluten-free fish & chips - in a separate fryer! - so my coeliac mother can be catered for. Service could be a bit better but it's a fish n chip shop, not Mimis; and the fish in the kids fish n chips wasn't the best quality fish - not that they cared. Seafood basket was alright - we ordered it for the kids on the first visit and it was acceptable for them but I would have been disappointed if I'd ordered it for myself. That was probably the weakest dish we ordered.In summary: I have suffered way too many bad fish n chips in my life. This was not one.

Beautiful piece of cod perfectly cooked and hot but sitting on bed of cold soggy chips. My friend hat flat head which again was great but terrible chips. Great location and friendly staff just don’t order chips.

Trialled both fish n chips shops coming into summer and I really enjoyed JP's.Fish burger was top quality would recommend. Chips were quality and way better vs other store which was big factor for me... but in my opinion a little bit too expensive.Overall I think worth the cost for just a really good feed next to the beach.

So disappointing. Chips were green in colour and filth in taste. Beef burger was old and bun had mould on the bun. The calamari was old. Threw it all in the bin.

I could tell right from the colour that it wasn't going to be good. $22 for Barramundi, chips, and taretare sauce. About a 20 min wait for food. I don't think any of it was made today. I could only taste the chicken salt on one chip. Pretty sure the fish was bettered previously and frozen. The chips were more chewy than crunchy. I think the taretare sauce is store bought as well. I've had better fish and chips in a Chinese owned tuck shop.
