Fig Tree Retro Studio

The studio was perfect!First holiday for our rescue dog and she loved it! Having a fenced yard was a bonus.The fit out was so beatifically curated and on point with the retro theme.Denise was fast to reply and lovely to deal with!Couldn’t fault a thing!

I am a local in the Byron Shire area but needed somewhere to relax and have a holiday, preferably with my much loved dog (Jaz). I felt completely at home and comfortable at Mango Tree Cottage. The fire place, comfortable beds and bedlinen were a real treat plus the fantastic northern aspect and view. Denise and Glenn were very welcoming and I would certainly consider staying again in the future. Thanks guys for one of the most relaxing holidays that I have had in a long time. Denise and Glenn have a beautiful cabin that they have lovingly decorated and it really is a charming retro studio. We had the most relaxing get away and will definitely stay again.Denise was so hospitable and made our stay so comfortable. In July we stayed at Mango Tree cottage for 4 nights with our 1 year old son and 2 year old dog. I never thought that combination would allow me to write a review on what a fabulously relaxing time we had. The open plan design allowed us to relax and cook some lovely meals (taking full advantage of a well stocked kitchen) or sit back on the deck overlooking the valley while still being able watch bub and dog enjoy the open space. Then at night relax in front of the fire with a bottle of wine.The location is excellent providing both a secluded setting and close proximity to the beach or town of Pottsville with everything you need for supplies.Finally Denise could not have been more helpful as a host even coming to our rescue at night when I couldnt assemble the porta cot! Thank you Mango Tree cottage for a wonderful first family holiday.

We stayed at Mango Tree Cottage over New Year 15/16 for 5 nights. Denise was great when I phoned her and her emails were also really clear, informative and friendly. We arrived a lot later than expected because the traffic from Sydney was very busy.The house is gorgeous, very clean, comfortable and very tastefully decorated. Our kids and working cocker spaniel soon took advantage of the large grassy garden and played football. Then Denise and Glenn came up to welcome us in their friendly, laid back and non obtrusive way, perfect hosts. I loved the kitchen and the open plan layout. The Master bathroom is gorgeous and I took advantage of the lovely stand alone bath. The deck area with the view and the day bed were definitely our favourite parts of the cottage. We even spotted a wallaby in the garden one sunny afternoon. Mango Tree Cottage is pure bliss.

We had a fantastic stay here with our 2 small children. The cottage was beautifully presented and everything we needed was there! Kids loved the roaming chickens & friendly dog. We loved our stay and Denise was very welcoming - definitely worth another visit!

What a beautiful setting and plenty of local markets and local points of interest, beaches, swims and walks in a short driving distance to keep you busy. We will be back to stay a week next time as a couple of nights was too short to fully explore the local area. The layout of the accommodation was perfect for our family of 5 as the comfortable open plan living spaces separate the twin bedroom and sun room, where our children slept, from the master bedroom with attached bathroom, including claw foot bath. A good combination of privacy and communal living, simplicity and comfort. There is also a large covered verandah with outdoor seating to enjoy meals or curl up with a book.Glenn welcomed us considerately and encouraged the kids to let the chooks out and collect eggs which they really enjoyed. When I asked the kids the highlight of our week away, we spent some time in Brisbane too, staying at Mango Tree Cottage was number 1 on their list and number 2 was the slide at Murwillumbah (a gentle slide cut into a grass hill with beautiful views and palm trees to shade the way down, 1/2 an hour drive from Mango Tree Cottage). The Mango Tree Cottage was number 1 for me too, followed by the Margaret Ollay arts Centre which was in the same vicinity as the slide!

Our weekend at Mango Tree Cottage started with a very warm welcome from the host.The cottage throughout is spacious, quiet and relaxing with tranquil views from the inside rooms and the day bed on the deck. The bath with views to the valley, a well equipped and spacious kitchen, barbecue facilities, natural body products and plenty of room for our dog to run all bring the comfort factor well above other places we've stayed at. Coffee, restaurants and beaches are only a 5 minute drive.Staying for a weekend is to short, stay for a week!We'll be going back soon!

We loved our recent 4 night stay. The cottage was beautifuly decorated and very comfortable with plenty of room. The weather was cool and we able to enjoy having a fire at night. We will definitely be recommending to friends and family and hope to stay there again.

Myself, 2 dear friends & my little dog, Lucy had the pleasure of staying at Mango Tree cottage for 6 nights over Christmas. From the moment I walked in the door I felt like the place was welcoming me & I was so thrilled to be there. The sweeping views of the paddocks & hills was stunning....we spent a lot of our time out on the huge deck just soaking it in and basically being very slothful! Lucy was at first a bit startled by the big dogs!! aka cows when they came in to the home paddock. We had fun feeding the chooks & taking lazy walks. Pottsville is only 5kms away & some days we went for walks on the pristine beach. Another day we took a leisurely drive in the beautiful hinterland.Denise, Glenn & their son were so accommodating & friendly. We didn't want for anything as it was all already provided.Being only 135kms from Brisbane & being just off the highway it was easily accessible.I'm already planning return trips with various family & friends.Thanks so much Denise & Glenn.
