Mount Everest Restaurant
I have been visiting this restaurant for almost 4-5 years now. After my recent visit on 14th February 2023, I feel the need to write this.Service- quite slow. There is only one waitress who is very polite don’t get me wrong , but she takes her own sweet time. They had 3 tables, all couples, so it wasn’t busy.Food - very consistent and delicious. Worth the wait. Decently priced.Ambience- could use a lot of improvement. The restaurant is dusty, run down and could use a reno. They don’t play any music so you can hear the clattering of dishes and pans from the kitchen. Not a relaxing dinner environment.I would go back for the food but it takes a very long time to arrive. I’m talking over an hour for entrees.We reached at 8:15, and our main course service at 9:50. The restaurant closes at 10pm. We just packed our main course and ate it at home because it felt embarrassing sitting there and finishing our meal while they waited to close up.Let me say it again, food is delicious but everything else brings down the whole experience.

Had the most stressful experience a couple of months ago, as we ordered via Menulog and the food arrived after 2:30 HOURS!!! My wife and I just wanted to have a relaxed Friday night after a hard week of work and all we wanted was to lounge around and have a nice meal. We called the restaurant 3 times to follow up and they still couldn’t give us an update on when the food was going to be delivered. After literally yelling with the person on the other line (who could barely speak English), the food arrived cold and was pretty mediocre. Avoid at all costs, especially when ordering online.

Make sure you order 2 hours in advanced.We ordered take away during lockdown on a Friday night. I made an order via the phone at 6:30pm and was told it would be ready in an hour. We turned up and was told it would be another 15 minutes. It ended up being another hour before we got our food.We ordered onion bhajis, chicken momo, hot malabar fish curry, a paneer kulchan curry, keema bread and a garlic and cheese naan.The onion bjajis and both the curries were good. The fish curry was not hot but tasty.Both the keema and garlic and cheese naan were raw. The dough was uncooked and raw. The cheese had barely melted on the naan.Overall the food was average.The person answering the phones and whoever is on the counter needs to speak clear English. It was so difficult to understand.They also need to prioritize people who walk in and order via their own website or the phone. A lot of menu log orders were being prioritized over the people that had been waiting 2 hours or more at the restaurant or get another chef in the kitchen.We received our order before another person who has been waiting an hour before we got there.Would I come back? Possibly not due to the wait.

Visited this restaurant on Thursday evening. We ordered only vegetarian entrees.Got the complementary papad after we placed the order.Vegetarian momos and Panner shashlik.Both wete good in tasteVegetarian momos took time to arrive and still were not hot.We ordered another vegetarian Momo and in was the same case.Couldn't see much Nepalese options on the menu.Might visit again for momos.

Delicious food and great service. Great value for money. This will be a regular for the family. I've been to a few of the stalwarts in Sydney and My Everest is right up there. If you like Indian and Nepalese food, you cannot go wrong.
