Absolutely beautiful space that feels warm, safe and relaxing. Beautiful friendly staff. A pleasure to relax in! Bek does a fantastic job and I always walk out looking exactly how I wanted. Highly recommend

Firstly, there was nothing wrong with the hair cut they gave me, (apart from it being way more expensive then the original quote). However, mostly I just felt as though I was being rushed out of the door, even though they only had 2 other customers at the time. There were enough seats to at least fit 6 or 7 people so I can't see how they could say they were busy. I also never ended up having my hair cut by the people I asked for and for some reason my appointment was changed from 9am to 10:30am without any reason. When I turned up they still had me in for 9am so obviously someone forgot to update the system which is very unprofessional. Overall my experience with them was rude/unpleasant and rubbed me the wrong way. If you want a hair cut that doesn't cost an arm and a leg I don't recommend this place!

The moment you walk into this salon you feel the warmth and relaxing ambience all around. The layout is amazing right down to the finest details with all of the modern cons available.Bec is a perfectionist, who gives a very professional and personal service every time I visit and your staff are just so damn cute and professional to boot. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

After several years going to a well known Hobart salon I was delighted to find the relatively new Ukiyo and relax and enjoy this sublime location. It is such a beautifully calm and embracing space to be in for however long my unruly hair needs to be pampered to leave with it looking fabulous.Rebekah and her small team ensure from the moment you are greeted on arrival to the time to sadly leave that everything is thought of down to the wonderful tea options, the delightful head massage at the wash basin and the music playing in the background. There is no sense of anything being a rush or of being time poor and it is such a delight to be able to relax and enjoy the experience.I am so happy to find such a perfect salon that has such talented staff working at it. My hair has always been difficult to cut and even after 35 years of trying the best salons in Hobart no one has come as close to Bek has at cutting it so expertly.May this beautiful salon be around for many years to come for us all to enjoy its space and its ambience.

Ukiyo is a beautiful big heritage space on the first floor of the Crowne Plaza building. I see Vincenza and she’s the most fastidious hairdresser. She’s a blonde specialist and phenomenally talented. She’s warm and friendly but her expertise is such that I can trust her to tweak and improve on my colour (foils) every time. Her cuts and styling is also on point. I feel so lucky to have come across her.

So many options when it comes to finding a great hairdresser in Hobart and my experience has left me wishing I found you fisrt!! If you need to attend a special occasion that requires something special for your hair, please choose UKiyo Hair first! Don’t worry about searching for others, trust me, you just need UKiyo Hair.
