Foolishly overlooked this place for two entire years but once we tried it, we have literally gone nowhere else since. Plus 5 is a comfortable, consistent waterside bar with a very relaxed atmosphere. It’s a reliable option no matter the weather; if it’s raining or windy they’ll just put the covers up and you stay cozy and dry while still feeling like you’re outside and with a view of the river. Plenty of heater coverage for the winter time too. Music is chill and background level.The staff are kind and lovely and service is always fast. They started to recognise us way too fast haha. You can order by QR code or at the bar, whatever you prefer.On to the menus. Both the food and drink menus are extensive, and apparently not in the way that everything is average. Lots and lots of interesting and tasty cocktails with regular specials. Everything we’ve ever eaten there has exceeded expectations and is always perfectly cooked. The best thing by a mile is the buffalo cauliflower which makes it a great place if you want vegetarian or vegan options (of which there are a lot, including a delicious bruschetta pizza). They do a good chip too - obviously very important.Last but not least, they do a generous Happy Hour with $10 Espresso Martinis (some of the best in town, the coffee is rich and almost chocolately), as well as a variety of other half price or discounted cocktails/sprtizes. Runs from 3pm - 6pm Wednesday through Friday. Their cocktail jugs are also great value if you’re there on the weekend (around $36 which is almost $20 cheaper than some nearby venues).Highly, highly recommend this place.

Visited 3 months ago had a great platter really impressed went back yesterday had the same it was terrible chicken wings under cooked and dipped in a hot sauce last time I thought they were the best I have ever tasted. the cauliflower last time crispy ,tasty, this time just tasted like covered in hot sauce and soggy .pear and parmesan salad needed more dressing but on upside pork belly great .They have to be more consistent not sure now about going back

Visited this place a rainy evening. The outside seating treats you to treat view of the river and the city line. It was comfortably warm to be there in winter. They have wide range of cocktails and warm drinks as winter special like the hot toddy and mulled wine. Loved them. However the other classic cocktails were alright, a little diluted. For the food we tried fries, their garlic bread and dip platter and the bruschetta pizza. The dips were alright. Absolutely loved the bruschetta. The staff were very sweet and courteous.

With many riverside restaurants to choose from we were glad we made the right choice. The menu was diverse and offered something for everyone. We started with some beer and sangrias. We were a bit disappointed with the sangrias and when the table next to us received their sangrias we noticed they didn't look like our and were larger. The server said they were the same. We asked them to serve us the same as the other table and they were quick to do so. The pizza was very good. A think light crunchy and tasty experience . Its the way pizza should be. The salads ordered were also very good. A feast of flavours. Overall the experience was positive. The price was reasonable as well. It was a beautiful sunny summer day and sitting by the river with the spectacular views of downtown Melbourne added to a great dining experience.

Good place in the riverfront. Beautiful ambience, courteous staff, great food. Ordered Korean Fried Chicken Wings and Meatball Pizza for food and Long Island Pitcher in liquor. The food was really good but the Long Island Pitcher could have been a bit stronger.

We dropped in for lunch after going shopping at South Wharf DFO. They have a fantastic drinks menu. We really enjoyed the gin & tonic menu; great variety of gins and lots of options with tonics and botanicals. We all had a different gin & tonic and they were all delicious. Food menu has good variety of classic dishes without being overwhelming. The food is tasty, very generous serving sizes, well presented and good flavours. Service is very attentive, we did not have to wait too long at any stage and they were quite busy. There was pleasant live music, we sat outside and it wasn't too loud. One thing which was irritating was all the adjusting that the staff did with the outdoor awnings and heaters, we'd just get used to it being one way and then they'd change it. Obviously they were trying hard to please everyone. Good experience, will be back.

Great location. Sitting outside with nice city view. Its nice to have some drink and snack before the event. Staff are friendly and welcoming, foods are great value for money .

We stopped in here without a reservation on Friday night of 21 April 23 for a birthday meal with four. The place was packed and we were greeted by Christian who took our number letting us know that a couple of tables were done and he’d call us within 20mins. We walked for about 5 mins when we received a call letting us know our table was ready.On return we were greeted again by Christian and taken to our outside river view table. Ordering by the QR we ordered some drinks inclusive of a tasty (one of the best I’ve had) Bloody Mary mock tail.We ordered the entree calamari, arancini balls, chicken sliders and for main a pepperoni and cappricosa pizza for the main.All were tasty and filling, with the pizzas fresh and really flavourful.With the view of the river, the excellent service and great quality food, plus 5 is a great place for cocktails, food and the view.Shout out to Christian for excellent service and accommodating us when they were so busy!

Nice chill place to grab a relaxed lunch.For a late small lunch we got the Chefs Selection Tapas and a serve of the Agnello pizza. Pizza was great, but the good surprise was the selection, which on our day came with Aranchini, Meatballs, Calamari, Rocket Salad and the Smokey Chipotle Wings (we think).Whilst it says for two, it more than enough for the four of us to snack on as a light lunch. And funnily enough most of the items came in 4's.Staff were friendly, but unfortunately there was a bit of a wait for our order. Being expo centre adjacent, just we wary of convention goers booking the place out!
