Fraser Dingo 4wd Adventures

The tour was great fun. Our guide Arte was a legend, very knowledgeable on the Butchulla people and the island and great to get a proper Aussie to ensure we enjoy the island in the proper way. He had to deal with a lot of drama as well including a broken down car which meant we had a long wait but the team resolved this as quickly as they could and we still managed to see everything we planned for. I just want to hear the end of so many of Arte’s stories! The accommodation was better than we expected too as we thought we were going to camp but we had a nice house. A properly funny experience from start to finish

We had 3 great days Tag along, camping trip with Dingo from Hervey Bay to Fraser Island, trip with other 25 passengers in 4 cars.The plus: discount for direct booking, great guide, good colorful cars, trips with interesting visit locations.I called directly their number to book and got a discount from them, better than through agency and can cancel with full refund 7 days before tip.Arty was great guide tour, explained several times, check on us and on cars often. He is very typical Aussi from countryside, direct and simple. He explained well about Abroginal cultures and the places.Cars are comforable, well maintained. Good fun to drive.The minus: detailed email is sent only 2 days before trip, not much time to prepare.The cooking and cleaning can be better organised, everyone can clean their own dishes, will take less time than 1-2 person clean all at the end. Cooking is a bit slow by volunteers.If you or your friend drive, then you will be in 1 of the 3 tag along cars, which have more space. The lead car seems to be more bumpy and less comfortable being passengers sitting at the back.Agency could have sent us the feedback form/email with some questions from google form or something to fill in at the end of tour.Overall, good experience for youngsters

What an amazing experience. Cars were awesome, accommodation was clean and great. We went to the nicest places at the quietest times despite some bad weather. Arte was a top guide and has bags full of info so just ask him! A proper k’gari island tour with a true Ozzy, would love to do again!

Awesome! We went with them to Fraser Island from 16/17. our guide Nigel was a very good person. We had so much fun and it was one of the funniest experiences in Australia. To drive by yourself with a 4WD is just awesome!! Go and do the tours with them. You will not regret it.

We really enjoyed our 2 day 1 night tour with Fraser Dingo. Scott our guide was very informative and good banter, he made our experience really enjoyable. Accommodation was very good and clean had everything we needed and had warm showers for everyone. The volunteers were friendly and cooked us lovely food. The 4wd were in good condition. Would recommend this tour

AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS. By far the WORST after-booking experience I’ve ever faced.We had a 2 days booking together with both my parents with unfortunately heavy rainfall during the night which led to many deep holes filled with muddy water along the main track. So far it’s just bad luck. But being accused irresponsible and charged another $550 because we returned the vehicle with an extra 44kms and mud splash is HIGHLY ABUSIVE.Above all when I’ve informed the company on the exact same day (with pictures as proof) about the fact that, as non-experienced drivers but very careful and concerned about returning the car in one piece, we made our best all day long by avoiding getting into these muddy holes. Their answer is simple: “sorry, we’ve been on holidays this day, we haven’t seen your message”. Who the hell provides such a bad customer service?Of course, it’s impossible reaching them out through phone. They barely answer by e-mail and kept saying “There will be no further discussion”.What a different taste versus the guy who made the (really too long) briefing pushing all the add-ons they have. So first quote was $800, went up to $1000 with the highly recommended add-ons, ended up at more than $1500 after abusive treatment + false accusations (no, sorry Jane, we were not a bunch of young guys celebrating a bachelor party). Of course they decide the amount they charge you on top, no details, no way for you to discuss it, it could be anything, correct or not, pay, that’s all. And before you provide any answer: yes we’ve read your terms and conditions, and nowhere it’s mentioned that you guys provide such a bad customer treatment.I’ve never had to write such a long review before, but this company is by far the worst on the market and deserve that I’m wasting 15min of my time to warn the others.

We did a 2day tag along tour. The tour was great! A good mix of people in the group from under 20 to over 40. Dylan was a great guide, giving good instruction while driving more difficult sections. Accommodation was simple but absolutely sufficient and right next to the beach. The highlight was getting to spend a couple of hours for floating down Eli Creek. Great tour! Loved it.

Could book everything online and also confirmation process and everything went smoothly. Relaxed professional customer service and instruction session. They rebooked the return ferry for us on short notice which was cool! Car was also as described, no frills older model Toyota Prados without A/C and radio - but was actually good to have a more natural experience, and didn‘t bother us at all. And mechanically well maintained cars, we felt at ease driving around!We didn‘t like the camping gear provided though. Cooking utensils are okish. But especially the tent is too small for 2 people, we barely fit in lenghtwise (1.80m & 1.74m), and off the cheap range below $100. I would get it for a music festival maybe as a throwaway item, but on Fraser there is the occasional heavy rain, insects (i.e. March flies) and Dingos sniffing around. At the end makes for a worse experience than it had to.Hope they invest 200-250 bucks for a larger/better tent and buy some proper sleeping mats. If they really wanna make it right, put in a mosquito net dome to enjoy dinner outside and overall have a more pleasant stay on Fraser. The color of the cars (pink, blue) also seems to attract flies and insects.If you are camping and want some basic comfort, I would consider buying a tent and mats myself for $250 with better water column and where you can sit and eat shielded.

We did the 2 day/1 night tag along tour and had the best time ever with our awesome tour guide Graham. He has such a big knowledge about the island and can answer you any questions you have, if it’s either about the animals, vegetation or the history of Fraser Island. Definitely recommend to try and drive a car yourself as it is a unique experience. But even as just a passenger you’ll have so much fun! The days were filled with great activities and it didn’t seemed rushed and we still got to see a lot. Food and accommodation was great as well. Definitely recommend this tour company to anyone who’s traveling along the East Coast of Australia.
