This place is always busy, showing that the locals know where the good food is. Staff always meet you with a smile and great food suggestions. Chicken salt is always added when asked and dim sims are never rock hard. This is now my go to fish and chip shop at Karalee.

Bought dinner tonight from A Catch 22. Cooked to perfection once again!!!! Best calamari ever!!!! Chips we're delicious!! Great service as usual.

I placed a telephone order to a person who answered the phone with 'Hello' no mention of what business it was. I had to ask if it was the fish and chip shop. I then placed a simple order of 3 peices of fish and some chips. I ordered at 5.03pm and was told they were busy and it would be a wait. I asked specifically how long. They said an hour. I clarified and said about 6.10pm. They responded with yeah. At 6.10pm I arrived to collect my order for them to tell me it would be another 45 min wait and my order had not even been preped yet. I understand Good Friday is probably their busiest day of the year but not good enough. Someone else please open another fish and chip shop in Karalee!!!

5.15pm on a Thursday. 35 minute wait for serve of chips. No apology or explanation. Have had several full serve of meals here for up to 6 people, and food was so poor not all was eaten. We will travel in future.

I just picked up my order, got home and my calamari rings were not there, but worse than that the fish was very overcooked. Tried to ring four times but no one answered. I understand when you’re busy and I don’t like to complain but when it costs you $45 for 2 pieces of fish, 2 Pluto pups, 4 seafood bites, $3 chips and 6 calamari rings that I didn’t get, I’m afraid I expect it to be cooked well. Will be a long time before I take the chance again! Jenny N

Pretty average on a good day, staff never want to be there or take your order. Fish is always over battered and the chips are a 50/50 depending on the day. Unfortunately they have a monopoly on the area so most people still go there.

Best fish & chips in Ipswich! I always phone through orders & the time till pick up is always accurate. Best chips anywhere in Ipswich, easy to park & collect, always beautifully cooked & staff always greet with a smile.

An eternity waiting for our order , and when i complained the owner made me feel like it was all my fault. Customer service was obviouly not in their business plan. Maybe they should warn the customers if there is going to be an eternity to get food here so the customer can go somewhere else lol.Obviously under staffed and the care factor has gone. ' Shut it down' as Ramsey would say. Lets hope the food isnt as bad as the other reviews say it is.

The shop itself has a lovely 80's feel with retro music,unfortunately that's about as good as it gets.The chips were so oily and old oil tasting and the burger was not nice at all.Sorry guys - it's a no from us...
