Caroline Dawes

I had very unfortunate experience with Caroline Dawes who promised to sell me a dining table for a negotiated price - she knew my health situation and how happy this purchase was making me -she asked for cash only which i agreed and i organised to collect it and informed her i was on my way at 3pm - she got a better offer than mine after telling me it was definitely mine and i had all weekend to collect it - she then listed it as sold at 4pm on Saturday and sold it to someone else - but didn’t have the courtesy to inform me or reply to me - she just deleted the ad and blocked me from facebook without any communication - far from honest reliable and professional. Im very very disappointed that a person would treat another human this way yet alone someone going through the biggest struggle of their life .

I try and give people the benefit of the doubt, and I applied the same courtesy to Caroline several times over the course of our transactions. I engaged Caroline to design a re-development of my backyard and based on her social media presence was happy to pay the premium she charges for her services. Her design and support were actually very reasonable in my opinion, and in this fact alone I reserved an additional 'star' to what would have otherwise been a 1 star rating on a service. Despite Caroline's reasonable acumen in her field of garden design, she falls miserably short in her professionalism. Calls, texts, emails, messages were rarely answered, or in other words, outright ignored in most cases, over the course of the 16 months I engaged with her (this timeframe is relevant in demonstration that her lack of professionalism did not appear to be due to some unfortunate timing on my part, but rather a consistent theme and testament of her services and professionalism). I would caution others (i.e. prospective clients) that value their time and value professional courtesy to give Caroline a miss, and to seek another local garden designer. As a customer, I felt like I was not valued, and while I can appreciate that she may be 'busy', this review I believe fairly represents her professionalism - poor. I would implore Caroline to employ an assistant or develop practices that do not fail her in professionalism/business practice, as her technical aptitude in garden design is quite good.
