The Guitar Factory School

I’ve been having lesson since beginning of this year, as an adult I thought picking up a new instrument would be a challenge. I have found Hamish to be a patient teacher and goes at my pace. I have been really enjoying my lessons and growing love of the guitar. Would highly recommend the guitar factory school!

My teenage daughter has had lessons at the Guitar Factory School with Hamish for a year and has loved every minute. I would highly recommend the school. Hamish is patient and knowledgeable and has tailored the lessons to her music tastes.

My son has been going to GFS for 3 years, ever since we bought his first guitar. Kieran has been an excellent tutor and music mentor for my son. Kieran is now helping my son with his HSC music pieces. Highly recommend.

Hamish has been teaching my son for close to 5 years now. His confidence and capability is such that he will now stand up and Improvise solos over chord progressions in a Jazz Ensemble to an audience. This is from a base of Zero musical knowledge or experience. Hamish's teaching style is not rote learning, but adapts fluidly to the students needs and interests, keeping the students working on material they are interested in. High value and highly recommended

I have 2 girls learning guitar with Ray and can’t speak highly enough about him or The Guitar Factory School. They enjoy their lessons each week and have learnt so much over the year.They look at Ray as family and I can’t wait to see how they progress with such an amazing teacher.Highly recommend them for anyone keen to learn.

My son, Lachie, has been having lessons with Rob Turner for the last 6 months. Rob is so patient and calm and has really helped motivate Lachie to improve his guitar skills. Lachie loves going to lessons each week, and happily practises at home.Rob has such a wealth of experience in playing guitar, and a genuine passion for sharing this knowledge with his students.I also really appreciate that Rob is so flexible if we need to change lesson times occasionally, and let’s us make up lessons if we go on holidays.

I’ve been a student of Rob Turner at the school for 8 months now, having only learned a few chords myself before this. My progress has been great and way beyond what I could have achieved on my own. I have thoroughly enjoyed catching up with Hamish each week during 2022. He has included topics that interest me but as I am a long term largely self taught guitarist, Hamish has also included a good slice of music theory that I was not aware of. This widens the palette if I am figuring out an arrangement with him, such as a jazz standard. Lessons started F2F and we occasionally still do that, but I have also found the online lessons to be excellent with some great materials emailed to me after the lesson that help me review what we covered and then do some practice. He has also introduced me to some music software if I want to capture a composition (notes and tablature) rather than just rely on memory. Thanks Hamish and look forward to continuing in 2023.
