Bonegilla Migrant Experience
Highly recommend taking the guided tour. So informative and the host was so passionate telling stories from people who had lived there and returned to explore their memories. Very emotional journey for those revisiting. Definitely gives you an appreciation for the new Australians that came such a long way to start their new lives.

Interesting place, particularly if you have any historical link here. The staff were all very friendly and informative. They also helped look up old records. Plenty of the common areas furnished and displaying configurations from back in the day. One suggestion, it would have been good to see more of the private rooms and family accommodation on display also, however these were either empty or locked. Overall glad we stopped by. Planned for 1 hr spent closer to 3.

a fascinating part of Australian history, beautifully maintained and augmented with thought-provoking relics and photos. Volunteers are friendly and well-informed, adding so much to the experience. Would be great for school and tour groups.

Definitely worth a visit. I spent several hours wandering around the camp seeing how the post WW2 migrants lived. Very informative and an interesting experience

Amazing museum. Wendy was very informative. Luckily in my group there were people, or the children of people, who had actually spent time there.Well worth it. You don’t have to join a tour but I think it is a good option.

Many family friends were residents of Bonegilla when they first arrived in Australia. Only because we had friends in Sydney from the same village did we not go to Bonegilla. Thoroughly enjoyed this museum. The displays are great. Wonderful photographs. Well worth a visit by anybody with any connection to the place.

Really well organised and very knowledgeable friendly staff. I now feel I understand better my mother's family's experience when they arrived in Australia.
