It's rare these days to find a motel with quality in-house dining. Romeo and Juliet's has a good variety of dishes on its menu and a good variety of wines by the glass or bottle too. Excellent service from wait staff too.

Exceptional dinner. Delicious food well prepared with impeccable service. Accommodation at the hotel was also excellent. Highly recommend a stay at this business whenever you're visiting Mackay!

This is a gorgeous restaurant, the service and food were both wonderful. We stayed an extra night at the Shakespeare Motel, room was spacious, very clean and bed was ok, I prefere soft myself, it was medium as they are in most motels. Complementary continental breakfast was lovely with an added touch of fresh baked divine raspberry muffins, gluten free bread, with fruit and yogurt all included with the usual things. We've found our go to place everytime we travel south and are looking forward to our next stay. Thank you Shakespeare staff see you again.

Excellent food and remarkable service. Dined in during the week and had the Dinner Special, enjoyed every course and the atmosphere. Will definitely be back again.

Great sized rooms, comfy beds with updated bathroom x2 rooms with queens with x2 televisions - Shakespeare Motel is an excellent stay over for long or short term - Fantastic for both family or a group of buddy's having a getaway weekend.

Terrible service. I made a booking with the restaurant which was confirmed by the restaurant 2 days before the booking. I called on the day of the booking to reconfirm and was told that they had not confirmed but cancelled my booking! The person I spoke to was unapologetic and said that it was my fault not theirs and that I couldn't prove the conversation. They then denied all knowledge of calling me to confirm. I am a supporter of local business however I would rather eat a roadside pie than ever support this place.

Don't go there often, usually only when friends stay at the attached motel, the Shakespeare. The atmosphere is what you might describe as intimate, the bar is well stocked, and most importantly the food is always excellent, more traditional than nouveau cuisine and that suits me right down to the ground.

We had a dinner for the company of 10. Duck breast was chewy. Salmon tasted as thawed not fresh. Pork mignon was amazing, perfectly cooked. The worse thing happend at the end. We had a one bill for all of us almost $200 more then we spent. An extra food and drinks were added to our order. My mood was totally broken. Don't want to come back to this restaurant.
