Clarence River Wilderness Lodge

Clarence River Wilderness is awesome we absolutely loved it. Sharon and Steve are amazing hosts , the lodge is rustic , authentic and super clean. The river , facilities and wildlife fabulous as well. My only suggestion is stay at least 3 nights if you can . We love it and will be back for sure. Thanks so much

I spent a few memorable days at Steve and Sharon's place. The scenery is breathtaking and Steve and Sharon are wonderful hosts. There is great hiking, canoeing, swimming in the river, reading, resting or admiring the starry sky around a campfire.Steve took me on a long canoe trip one day. After he explained a few important paddling techniques, we tackled some rapids.From the balcony in the cabin you have a wonderful view of the river. In a small photo book in the hut you can learn a lot about the creation of the lodge and the difficulties that Steve and Sharon have overcome over the years. They have created a wonderful place! I can highly recommend a stay at Clarence River Wilderness Lodge.

What a beautiful place!! My daughter had her wedding there recently and it was amazing! Steve and Sharon helped make it the memorable occasion it was. Nothing was too much trouble. The road in was picturesque with fantastic views. My friends in their caravan had no trouble getting in or out, despite the rain. We towed trailers and cool rooms and all good. I applaud Steve and Sharon for their amazing facilities, the toilets and showers an absolute bonus, very environmentally friendly. Congratulations, you have a beautiful, and beautifully looked after, place.

We went to celebrate a few friends birthdays untapped from the social media world , this place did not disappoint offering this! With a scenic back drop , superbly country style fire and cooking hub area where we came together at night for fun and festivities . The facilities were great with hot showers , the use of kayaks to paddle up and down and ferry us across to start point of the hike and back were a highlight! The babbling of the river soothed one’s soul to sleep by at night and wake for an early swim! It felt like worlds away from others except for the company we kept!

I really enjoyed my stay at Clarence River Lodge. The long drive in is well worth it... It's a hidden gem!We were welcomed by the Sharron who's been running the place for 40 years with her husband. It felt like a home away from the home and our hosts went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed to feel comfortable.Love the space and kayaking on the lake. Highly recommended.

Thank you SO much for our stay over the weekend, it really was so special and the location is magical. This definitely won’t be our last time here. The facilities are all so well kept (even after the floods) and so comfortable.It was such a meaningful weekend for my partner and I and the lodge made that possible. We loved reading about the history of the lodge, super interesting to hear what it’s been through and how it’s developed over time.We'll be back for sure!

We stayed here at the camping area during Easter and we had the best time. Absolutely great location, and very friendly staff. Would absolutely recommend to disconect and go to this beautiful place :)

Several hours of driving through some picturesque scenery brought us to Sharon and Steve's place for the seven days of outdoor education and adventure. Everyone was eager to embark on the white water canoeing expedition, camping and hiking. Several students were completing their Duke of Edinburgh International Award - adventurous journey - and enjoyed the challenges immensely. I choose to stay in one of the Tree Huts - positioned high up on the hill - with beautiful views of the river and the valley. Thank you to Sharon and Steve, we are already planning to visit you soon again.

The setting is magnificent! Quiet, remote and glorious. The camping, amenities and cabins were very comfortable. Very eco friendly. River was a bit low when we were there, but perfect for swimming, supping and generally lazing about on. Enjoyed some lovely walks. Spent 5 days, could easily spent longer. The hosts were fantastic, friendly and helpful
