Somerville Function Centre

This place is a joke. My cousin Booked the place with food service for Sunday with deposit paid. Saturday late night while we were having dinner got a call from them asking for full payment for the service we didn’t use and have already paid the deposit. Had no option but to pay as we organised everything else. Sunday found out most of the foods were left over from last night event. ABSOLUTELY ZERO recommendation.

No communication between the owners whatsoever! The wife booked in one family and husband booked in another family for the exact same date and did not see the need to inform the other of it. On top of that, they only inform the parties concerned about the need to change their booking one week before the event, with no compensation to offer even though they were at fault. UNBELIEVABLE!So hungry for money yet their service is nothing compared to what they charge. Disgusting behaviour.#donotrecommend

had my son welcome party there. The food was good and the organizer was very professional, she did her best to cater for all needs of our function. The staff are respectful and nice. I highly recommend this function centre for your events.

I had my wedding 3/01/2023 the front of the hall had bottles and paper plates lying around. Under the bridal table there was so much of dust and the screen on stage was not washed with so much dirt lying around. The management was so unprofessional where they forgot to keep juices for guest on the tables ,family had to keep reminding them. The starters were left on the buffet table till 8 pm , when called the manager about the starters being served she replied that she forgot . I had 14 tables for the wedding and the color was purple all tables has purple table runners except the last two tables has black runners which was ridiculous.We were so furious about the unprofessional behavior and disorganization.Would not recommend this reception centre

very friendly staff specialy the owner is so kind . the hall is very nice and beautiful. the foods menu is good . love this place . I booked this place for my weeding.

If I could leave no stars I would! You don’t even deserve the one star!How are you going to book my family in and then cancel it the week of the event because YOU double booked and made the mistake by booking 2 events on the same day. This booking was made last year and with a deposit! On top of that you’re refusing to refund the deposit when the fault is on your end! How are we meant to know YOU double booked, and then refusing to give the refund! The refusing to refund the deposit like it was our fault!We will be pushing this further and I will be recommending everyone and my family to not book here because of the lack of professionalism this venue has.Rubbish place and management is absolute rubbish!Will be following this up with the department because your reception place doesn’t meet the criteria.

Had a fabulous evening tonight. Kay was a fantastic host, she looked after us and I recommend the centre for all your celebrations. Food was awesome too!

I had my graduation party a few days ago at this reception, and honestly was an amazing experience. The food came out to everyone at good times no one waited longer. The staff were amazing and very understanding. All the guests who I’ve invited had nothing but amazing things to say about the venue. Thank you so much for such an amazing experience ❤️

A big disaster...they ruined our function. Liers and lamb excusers...they took double payment and didnt provide function centre. We faced a trouble and stayed under heat and sunshine for an hour along with our guests. At last they gave us their store room to carry on our function...it was a shame nothing else. They didnt serve our agreed menu...their staff was lazy and seemed as just awake from sleep. They were more intrested to wind up rather facilitateOn asking the manager and his wife(big liers and pretenders) replied as our function was not of worth for them so they didnt provide us agreed place and menu.Not recomended at all...pls do not go to such place for your events and celebrations if you want to enjoy your time. Any one wants to know further, happy to tell...
