Nick’s is good again! We were big fans of Nick’s when Nick was running it, but the new owners couldn’t reproduce the magic. It’s under new management once more, and now it’s MUCH better. We ordered 2 fillets of Barramundi and 2 fillets of Cod, plus a medium hand-cut chips (you have to ask for hand-cut). I’m glad to say it was very good. The previous management seemed to be cutting corners on the quality of the fish, but these new owners had very high quality fish and cooked it well. The chips were good too and they threw in a sample of the sweet potato chips as well which were also good. Every fillet of fish came with a wedge of lemon too; and they gave us a paper carry-bag. I’d have to be deliberately uncharitable to find something to complain about. It’s so nice to have a good local Fish and Chips in Tarragindi again. I will come again.

Old School Fish & Chips shop. I love this place. After moving into the area I was desperate to find my go to fish and chips shop and I have been through a lot, this one is my pick!Don’t expect online ordering or even a set menu…but what you can expect is great quality fish (and delicious chips) at outstanding prices cooked to perfection with a smile and great attitude.Don’t ever change.

I have been coming here for years because of the hand cut chips. I haven't found another shop in Brisbane that does hand cut chips and they always taste so delicious. Today, I purchased some chips with some seafood bites, prawn cutlets and chicken and garlic balls. The other food was cooked beautifully, but unfortunately on this occasion, the chips were overcooked, with more than a few of them burnt. Additionally, I don't know if they were given enough time to drain, as by the time I had returned home, the oil had seeped through the baking paper plus the two layers of brown paper that it was wrapped in. As I said this is unusual for this shop, as usually the food is 5 stars. If you are looking for delicious hand cut chips, then this is definately the place to go.

Best chips in Brisbane - real hand cut chips and the minimum chips easily feeds a family (or 1 hungry teen). Burgers and fish are also pretty good too. Old fashioned style family run business that treats customers really well (more often than not they throw an extra in with your order).

Nice little place off the main road. Parking available in front of the store. Really everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. I had to go back another day because the sweet potato scallops are to die for.

Unbelievable, best burger and fresh potato hand cut chips. Can’t beat this Steak Works Burger in Australia. The quality and price is unbeatable. It’s. Must try for anyone Southside Brisbane.

Highly recommended the calamari, the texture was tender and not rubbery at all. Overall enjoyed everything, the crumbing and chips were lovely and crisp. The only downside was that found the kabana a little overcooked and dry, so would give it a miss next time. There's only one table to sit at if dining in, so takeaway would be best.

I can't believe we walked past this place so many times. Tonight we tried steak burger with the lot (13$) and chips, and it's SO good. The whole shop is also priced incredibly reasonably and the service was a lovely, homely vibe. Definitely try this place if you're on the fence.
