A great market to but fresh fruit and veg, I would not buy meat here as some vendors don't seem to have a fridge? Everyone here is friendly and it has a great community vibe. Come down here to support the locals!

Shame we couldn't take our dog in. Apparently, because it is on school grounds.Got the best Portuguese hard sausage, some sourdough bread, and olives.

Down the road from loads of the Mclaren Vale vineyards. Great local markets with loads of yummy and fresh produce. Good value prices. Open 8am to midday every Saturday. Some stalls sell out quickly. Members get discounts at many of the stalls.

We went with friends for the first time last Saturday 12th October 2019. It is on every 2nd Saturday of each month. It was a beautiful sunny day and there were a lot of people there but there was plenty of car parking available. My advice - take more than one carry bag as I filled mine up quickly and had to make my husband run back to the car to unload and bring back an extra carry bag. All the produce is grown on the Fleurieu Peninsula and is so fresh. We bought various vegetables and the strawberries were super super fresh. I bought some fig & ginger jam for my mum who loved it and the apricot jam I bought for myself was jammed packed full of fruit. I couldn't get enough of the delicious cheeses and the smell of fresh bread was amazing. I bought dried pears that were plump and sweet. We left our husbands to go look for the almond stall which we were told about. They were selling 4 bags for $10 - all different flavours (even wasabi). We taste tested most of them and I wound up buying 8 bags !!! When I caught up with my husband (who never buys anything when we are out) I had to laugh as he had bought a large sultana grape vine in a pot, 2 large pots of honey, some beer from the Shifty Lizard Brewing company (love that name) and a hammer.... He loves that hammer !! It goes to show there is something for everyone....After about 2 hours of wandering around, taste testing and buying, we sat down at a table and chairs and had a coffee and ate some cake that we had bought. The stallholders are all friendly and love to talk to you about their produce. The market is so alive with music and people having fun. I loved seeing people walking around with their dogs. I met some gorgeous dogs, got puppy kisses and gave pats and cuddles. It was a fantastic way to spend a Saturday morning and I can't wait to go back and do it all over again.

We popped along for a second week in a row, experiencing too many people on Christmas eve and huge queues to get anything, be it a coffee or food to eat or even fresh fruit and vegetables. Today the wait was minimal. A lovely day, a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately our request for rhubarb seedlings had been forgotten so we might have to return for a third visit next Saturday. I was hoping to get some reasonably priced honey, like $21 a tub back home at Rapid Creek market in Darwin. This time Kangaroo Island honey was $20 for a small jam jar making it extremely expensive. It won't put me off though. We did get some lovely fruit and vegetables at a reasonable price.

Beautiful market. You can feel real local farmer's market at its best. The market focused on local fresh products and giving me variety of options to choose from. We've got fabulous olive oil from Peninsula Providore and very happy with our choice! Highly recommended!

It’s 4 years since we were in SA and had been so looking forward to visiting ‘The Market’. On our last visit Ainsley Harriet was filming! While there was a good selection of stalls on todays visit, we felt that the move away from the village centre and the adjacent ‘craft market’ has ripped the heart and soul out of what was a wonderful eclectic experience. Such a shame that this has become just another market, and not a ‘heart of the community event!

Most delicious vegan options! We enjoy the drinks from From Humble Grounds and the crepes from Crepe City. So healthy too! Here we are enjoying buckwheat apple cinnamon crepes, mushroom, buckwheat spinach and kale crepes and soy iced chais! 100% recommend!

A good selection of fresh fruit n veggies, some organically grown, many coffee options, & food a plenty, with good varied choices. The main street shops we're open, a lot of art & home made goods & many more eating options
