Thornleigh Community Recycling Centre

Last Saturday I took soft plastics. 2 bags. There was a huge line. I parked outside and endeavoured to put them in the bins provided which were directly at the exit. I was told along with another person (also only 2 bags of soft plastics) we were not allowed to put them in the bin. We had to wait in the long queue. He could have easily taken them and dropped both of our plastics in bin (next to him). He then closed the gate to the facility and told us to come back during the week.Today I went along to drop off the same plastics. Waited for ages. When it was my turn I drove to the end (exit) as I knew where the bins were (at exit). Same unhelpful guy - told me I couldn't park there. I just ignored him and it took me literally 10 seconds (if that)to put my plastic bags in the bin and drive off.This man is incredibly unhelpful and doesn't seem to understand customer service or common sense.He must be quite new as I have always had extremely helpful staff in the past.

Good old fashioned service in an amazingly well organised setting. So easy to drive through & ensure we are repurposing our goods. Fabulous team of caring professionals.

They take a wide variety of materials which is great. The staff are friendly and helpful. It can be a bit slow getting through however. It is a one lane drive-through and once you are in the line there's no turning back. My last trip took 20 minutes to do a 1 minute drop off. Timing is everything!

This place is fantastic. They've recently started recycling VHS tapes, cassette tapes, hard plastics and x-rays. They're not taking blister packs or toothpaste tubes yet, but I'm hopeful it will happen soon! Brilliant service. Thank you so much!

what a fantastic place. I got rid of my unwanted household batteries, aerosol cans, gas cans, small electronic computer devices with appropriate assitance provided. I couldn't get rid of a vacuum cleaner here but almost everything else was accepted.

Thank you for providing such an excellent resource for the community. Well organised, incredible high level customer service and assistance from Peter and Nathan who are a wealth of knowledge.Thank goodness for this community recycle centre as a professional organizer and declutter specialist, it covers a variety of recycling options.

This place is a great initiative. It's well organised & the staff are always very helpful. This makes it very inviting for anyone considering improving their recycling habits.

ATTENTION EVERYONE! THEY TAKE SOFT PLASTIC! Great community service available for all to use for all your hard to recycle items. One critique is that the car line up is quite hard to navigate as it's impossible to see at the entrance whether there free bays to drive in to. I would suggest having someone standing out there who ushers the cars in when there's space available, & who can also tell other cars to move up/down so they don't hog two spaces (as happened to me today).

Went in today (first open day since Christmas break) it was extremely busy. In saying that the staff where relaxed, helpful and respectful. I was able to drop off big load, and they helped rather than frown! Thank you for your efforts, keep up the good work.

Great facilities and your free to drop off your recycling. Very professional and very clean with thanks to all employees who work at the centre.
