If I had an option to rate in negative , I would have done. I had booked the motel for 2 nights and on the date of travel there was state emergency due to flooding all over Victoria . Non essential travel was not advised . Also the Hume freeway was flooded . I called the property and spoke to Russle , explained my situation and asked to cancel the booking and give a refund as it was not in my control to travel . Not only was the staff rude but refused to refund saying you should have seen the weather before booking the place few weeks ago . Very rude and very inconsiderate!!

We stayed in a recently refurbished room, couldn't have asked for any better. It had all the amenities required and was very clean. My only gripe was the coffee maker, they never make the coffee hot enough (but they seem to be the trend now, not sure if there was a kettle, I didn't go looking). Check in & out was easy. Perfect location, walking distance to the town, eateries & supermarket if needed. We are smokers, so found it handy to have a patio area & ashtray outside our room.

I do not ask for much when booking a motel, just a comfy bed and a clean room. This place delivered on both. Beds are very comfortable (after removing the heating pad) and because of the layout and location of the motel the room remained cool even on the hottest days. The room we stayed in is dated but obsessively clean. I was so shocked I actually found myself looking for dirt and dust, but couldn't find any. The owners are great - I spoke to Russell on the phone and he was friendly and I had a lovely chat with Lynda while there. The motel is on a quiet street and only a 2 minute walk to the main centre of Bright. My only complaint is in the structure of the building, I could clearly hear the people in the room above us as they walked around and used the water facilities. Overall, as far as motels go, this one delivers everything you expect and for a decent rate.

Easy to find, rooms are what u can expect from a motel. but the parking spaces are quite narrow especially when someone didn’t follow the one car per stopper…. They chose to park at their own convenience and not being considerate.

I booked directly with the motel the day prior. On the following day the authorities issued an extreme hazardous weather alert for the Great Alpine Road Mount Hotham which was expected to last 1 to 3 days. I need to use this road to get back to my home in Gippsland. As I was already in Bright I approached the owner Gang Hu first thing in the morning. I told him of the advice and that I desired to cancel the booking so that I may return home prior to the extreme weather event, and politely requested compassionate consideration that he not charge me for the room. He stated It's the law no refund". Well it's not law it's simply policy which the owner given reasonable information could change. He also stated well "I will lose money". He refused me a refund and took $180 and provided no service at all. It's all about the $$$."

My husband and I had a wonderful holiday stay at Barrass’s John Bright Motor Inn. We booked a Queen spa on the upper level and it had everything we needed and was very clean and extremely comfortable. Sure, the design of the rooms are a bit dated, but it was like staying in a 70’s time capsule and all the basic amenities were excellent. We were even allowed a late checkout which was very generous. Can’t recommend this place enough, and we’ll certainly be back!

Fantastic location, great management.We stayed here for four nights. The location is awesome being within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants. Easy access to the bike trails. The owners knowledge is great. They are friendly folk, willing to help and provide information.

One of best places to stay in bright position and value

Very clean room but I missed having a couch to sit on bed was comfortable but too high off the floor for me owners were friendly and helped us out.

Nice small motel. The location is great close to shops and cafes. Room was clean and spacey. Jacuzzi was a pleasant feature. Fast wifi and ample parking space. The owner, Russel and Lynne, are friendly couple. The only negative is that they do not have designated parking for bicycles and no room service on Sunday and public holidays.
