Good food and fast service. Being right next to the beach there’s lovely views.Was a bit confusing where to enter the bistro via but other than that a good experience.Small car park for off street parking available.

Great service, and great atmosphere. The extended bar and beer gardens are reminiscent of Brisbane and the Gold Coast. We had Bacardi on the rocks, We shared a plate of fish and chips. The fish was fresh local whiting with the taste of the sea, the chips were crunchy outside and soft within. The slaw salad was tasty and refreshing. This was the best lunch I've had in a while.

Historical building with a ton of history. Converted for newbies to enjoy the views of the dunes with their pets and others to sit and have a yarn. Have had the octopus which was amazing. No longer on the menu. The crispy pork. The salmon which was a little dry. White bait. And the seniors lunch specials. Worth taking parents or grandparents here. Nice atmosphere.

Good service and fast. There with a bus load of 45 for a conference study tour. We all had a good time. Well organized for a large crowd. Bus drop off easy from the Esplanade

The deck of the Palais is a great place to spend time. There is plenty of space to sit in the shade and enjoy the sea breeze. I had an Iced Latte which was delightful. The staff do a great job. The only thing I disliked was the pop music. It’s probably fine for most patrons but I found it a little distracting.

I’ve been coming to the Palais for 15+ years now. I’ve seen it go through ups and downs in management, but is over all a great pub.There’s always great selection of beers on tap and the food is good. The building is great and when it’s warm, it’s a great atmosphere. The chicken parmy is excellent.The reason I didn’t put a 5 star on this review is due to the inconsistency of the staff. Some are really nice and will say ‘hello’ and ‘how’s it going’ etc, but then almost every time I’m here, without fail, I’m met with a ‘you alright’ or ‘yep’, when trying to buy a $10-13 beer from a part timer that really really really really doesn’t want to be there. Overall the staff are good, but there’s some absolute beauties in there, where if who ever owns this establishment was to experience, would have a heart attack.Over all it’s a great pub as I said and if the inconsistency issues are resolved, you wouldn’t be able to beat it in the area. You can’t really beat the building and sitting out near the marquee (that they cut down).Site back, relax, get a freezing cold west end or Jane squire, get out in the sun and breath in that fresh outer harbor air.Once upon a time a saw a 2 mtr brown snake here, which almost went into the pub. Imagine having a coopers pale and getting bitten by a brown snake at a pub in Semaphore Adelaide South Australia…..that would be pretty Australian.

November 2022I've been here plenty of times. Probably at least once or twice in a month. The food is always very good, oysters, burgers, pizza, buffalo wings etc plenty to choose and to recommend because the food is delicious. One of our guests is a Doctor and his first time here, he enjoyed his food. I normally place my review months after, but last week visit was memorable. One of the best service I had here in Australia. My husband and I worked in 7* hotel where we value customers and always want them to return thus, we always deliver not the good service but exceed expectations service. Well, Rhea delivered superb service and exceeded my expectations. Waited for my order while everyone having their lunch, she apologized and served a nice and delicious salmon and as a gesture of goodwill I did not have to pay for it. This service I used to see in a luxury hotels. The best food, the best service, the best location. Highly recommended and will be back soon.July 2022One of my favorite place, our local Bistro. The food is the best, the service is casual, simple and quick. Been here countless of times have to take a photos of the area next visit.. soon.

Venue lovely cosey down stairs at beach level.Ordering is quick and easy (out of the dining area).Go to another area to order drinks.Noted another guest table.. last people to order.. all got their meals before our table who had ordered well before and we had small children who were screaming. We were also tired of waiting. For that 2/5.Most of the choices were good value.
