Extortion. Paid more than $900 for turning on the main switchboard power. No other word to describe except for extortion.Call out fee $195. Check my metre, $695. Damage report $395. Total visit time, 10 mins. Turned on the main switch board and nothing further work was done. No chit chat. No explanation. No room for negotiation. No sympathy. No respect and certaintly not worth ever using them again.Price speaks for itself.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!Absolutely horrible people. They threatened my female friend and made her feel unsafe in her own home until she paid their overinflated prices. It was meant to be a simple, 5 min job that they then turned into a traumatic experience to steal money.If you value the safety of your family, do not use this company. They will try everything in their power to scam you out of your money.

DON'T HIRE THESE PEOPLE! I could give 0 stars I could. My partner and I got scammed from this company. All i needed was a light switch replaced. Not only did they show up 2 hours later than they said they would, I received no written quote (should have been a first red flag). I was trying to work at the same time they were there (because they were 2 hours late) and all I heard regarding price was the call out fee plus $95 which seemed reasonable. It took the two men 5 minutes to do the job , then to find out it was $395 + $165 call out + GST. I, being a woman alone in my house felt intimidated by two men to pay this amount and I just wanted them to leave. So i paid $600 for 5 minutes to replace the switch. They tried to upsell me as well. They refused to give me an invoice until I had paid and signed (paid into 2 different accounts - also very dodgy) and the invoice was messed up. It had multiple things listed twice and services not even given. I tried calling the owner who said they would look into it and call me back. Never did. My partner called the next day and very politely and calmly went through what happened and if we could get a partial refund, because this isn't okay. He hung up and blocked his number.We have reported them to the Ombudsman and ACCC, likely will try and take further. Do not hire these people, their website says honest and on time" which are a complete lie. Don't be scammed like us. They shouldn't be in business."

CON ARTISTS!!!When you call them they will come in and charge a permanentcall-in fee followed by CRAZY HIGH SERVICE COSTS. Once you call them in you have already fallen INTO THEIR TRAP. Either choose to throw away the call-in fee (recommended) or choose to lose more money. Hangs up on you when you asks for an receipt! STAY AWAY!!! Their website is full of lies but looks authentic. Tells you a price then enters a higher price into EPTOS payment. CON ARTISTS!!!They tend to exploit the vulnerable and people with disability

DO NOT ENGAGE THIS COMPANY!!I was charged $750 for 15 minutes of work (no replacement of any parts).Also they insisted that my power main board was unsafe & illegal and needed urgent replacement and quoted me $2400.All customers who have used this company need to complain to Fair Trading.

BEWARE!!! DO NOT USE FOR EMERGENCIES - YOU WILL REGRET THE TOTAL RIP OFF!!! FIND OTHER ELECTRICIANS!!! I am extremely unhappy with my interaction with this company tonight and wish I read the other reviews before engaging them. Sadly it was an emergency so skipped the usual due diligence. First up $220 call out fee and arrived late. Within 5 minutes of arriving am told will cost another $460 just for them to be able to diagnose (not fix!) the problem. By this stage you are $680 in, with no electrical repairs actually completed. For the $680 you then get told the problem will cost several thousands of dollars to fix. The recommendations are intermingled with various threats about the potentially life threatening disasters that could occur if you don’t go with the more expensive option. Offered very minor discount for cash payment, but then continuously pressured to hurry up and deliver the money as they have another job to get to! All this after only spending approx 60mins to charge close to $3000. Yes, they are responsive on the phones during the engagement, but that is the only vaguely commendable aspect of the service. A completely regrettable, terrible, extortionate experience I will never repeat again. Strongly encourage you to avoid this company if you need emergency repairs. You will pay 3x the cost of other contractors.

I got Charged $2601 to change the circuits breaker and they intimidated the lady by using rude word and imagine two guys in your apartment and you are alone in the dark by yourself and they did the job for only 30 mins and they wrote things on the invoice that they did not do, very dodgy trader.. After reading these reviews, I wish I had not used their services. My experience with them included rudeness, swearing, unprofessionalism, taunting my little dog, charging ridiculous prices, $195 for an after hours callout fee and $495 to run a check on the power box switches. (Not to fix the issue). It was additional $295 to write up a report. I spoke to the guy coordinating the jobs through the 1300 number and he said he will not be using these particular tradies again, but I find this to be untrue as there have been multiple bad reviews as I have just found reading these google reviews. Their website says there is a 10% emergency. discount which was not offered when the 2 trades persons came into my home. So no I highly DO NOT Recommend JMS Electrical Services to anyone.

BEWAREScammers. They come out and recommend unnecessary upgrades and fixes for ridiculous prices, basically holding you for ransom because you have no other choice. They say that if you dont want the fix, you still owe them a massive bill for coming out and doing 'testing'. The whole operation preys on people being unknowledgeable and vulnerable. Disgusting business practice. I am also skeptical that anyone in the business uses a real name. This business and contractors should be shut down

I had exactly the same experience as Paco (earlier review) The threats and intimidation. We had called one other emergency electrician who wouldn't come out. We thought these people sounded wonderful, and it was a real emergency our heater had blown out one of our power points and burnt it.We work in construction and had a pretty good idea of what was wrong, they were disrespectful and aggressive, they were extremely upset when we refused a $1500 Check" of our whole system. They also got annoyed when we said that we would get our Electrical engineer involved.We were lucky they only "got" $700 from us but it is still a lot and I am sure that the next electrician will have to redo their "work" which involved screwing on a new plate. We are still without electricity on the lower floor
