Bega River
The river is still running, just. The vegetation hear is still very healthy as is the flat land around this flood prone area. This quite river location is cool under the trees and a good retreat from scorching sun. Just don't expect to go skinny dipping though as the amount of running water may only cover your ankles during this drought period we're all experiencing.

Good fishing at times, mostly a shallow river with lots of submerged trees from floods. Be careful boating upstream of Thompson's. Estuary perch, flathead and bream are commonly caught. Mogarika boat ramp is usable at all times, Blackfellows Lake ramp is good but a very shallow chanel between the lake and the river, difficult times in larger boats during low tide even small boats on shallow drive will touch bottom at times if not careful.

Peaceful and just a really lovely area for locals and tourists to enjoy. Large beautiful decidious and evergreen trees. A real asset to the Bega township. Well maintained. M.M
