Unsatisfying experience. Recommended to us by neighbour. We had bad debt on top of being 'bullied'. Seek lawyer's advise to reclaim debt that was previously agreed upon in writing. Job was handed to a, most likely, junior staff. Debt letter written did not reflect what we discussed. Asked for it to be corrected. Had to have 2-3 amendments as the legal person did not seem to comprehend fully what had been discussed. Each amendments and each phone calls were charged despite mistake made by the legal side. Complained to principal lawyer but no action. Also, letter was 'soft' and completely ineffective. Advise to us subsequently was unhelpful.Phil was very nice (extra star) but I think the practice is good at managing less controversial legal dealings and easier targets. If you have a tricky case, these guys are not the ones to go to.

Overall a very disappointing and nerve wracking experience using this firm’s property conveyancing services. Was recommended this firm by a friend but would not second that recommendation. This review relates to a property transaction in November 2022.The specific points at the end of this review meant that I had very little faith that our transaction was going to be completed properly. As a first home buyer I was up front that I needed everything to be spelt out to me in plain English (eg explain the jargon, minimal to no lawyer speak in our correspondence and discussions) and that I would need extra ‘hand holding’ during this process as it was all new to me; this was an acceptable request to the conveyancer. At the beginning it was fine but towards the end I had to take things into my own hands to get assurance that everything was progressing (eg consult friends and family).I am sympathetic to the conveyancer as it seems they had non-work related issues to deal with at the time, but the firm is ultimately accountable for the services that we are paying for, and the quality must be maintained (otherwise please refund me some of the fees).Specific observations are below:- missing or incomplete sentences from contract review advice- Addressing emails to the wrong person (using someone else’s name and therefore making me unsure if the correct advice was provided). A lot of the advice was generic (copy and paste) so unsure how much was actually applicable to the properties we were reviewing.- Actually including advice meant for other clients (eg relating to cleaning and tenants vacating a property)- Failing to confirm which account the duties are to be drawn from (not liaising with the bank to confirm everything’s progressing)- Missed the information that the OC is not going to be set up- Overdue settlement report with no status updates, inserted incorrect unit number, attaching our home insurance instead of the vendors / builders insurance- Not copied in on correspondence to the council with the notice of title transfer

Lawyers are supposed to assist you in dealing with a matter and guide you to the best outcome for yourself or a company you own and i can say this firm does that.Reasonably priced and honest...Will has been a fantastic aid this year.Could not recommend more!

Methodical clear information for initial conversation on Wills & Estates. Only criticism would be to allow for a preliminary consultation so Client can meet a Lawyer face to face ( before a Will is opened.

Dealing with Will Elder was a treat. I found him to be pleasant-mannered, and patient; willing to answer all my nuanced questions. This is in contrast to solicitors I have dealt with in other firms, where the mode of operation seems to be maximal charge with minimal interest/effort.

I contacted Phillips and Wilkins Solicitors based on a recommendation from a friend to prepare a will at short notice for my wife and I. The solicitor I dealt with was professional, helpful and, most of all, sympathetic. Despite COVID and the difficulties of the time, they were able to prepare a will quickly meeting all of our requirements. I would highly recommend this firm, and am very grateful to them.

I am a legal practitioner in Clifton Hill. I have a referred a number of clients to Grant McKenzie and Chris Henderson for property advice. I have found them to be knowledgeable, responsive and competent. Without doubt, they are also very courteous. This is what you want in your lawyer

Pam assisted with my closing and am extremly happy with their service. Being a first time homebuyer, I kept asking silly questions which she clarified and also was prompt in her response - email, call or messages. I was referred by an agent from Aussie Broker.

My partner and I were very disappointed in the conveyancing service provided by Pam Sell. Very late in the settlement process she called us and said the contract we had signed was defective. We were concerned this was not picked up prior to us entering in to the contract. I would not recommend this firm.Edit: We got a call from someone at the firm saying they would follow up on this but never heard back. Totally dissapointing.
