Carlton Lygon Lodge
Just an excellent little spot. If you are looking for lavish luxury, go elsewhere but if you are looking for a very nice room with a nice bed, bathroom and kitchenette in a terrific location to access the CBD then this IS the place. Don't be fooled by the price as it is quite nice. Tiana at the front desk was exceptional as we're the owners who we sat and had some wine with.

We stayed 4 nights. Very clean, great location walk right out to buzzy Lygon St or short strolls to Fitroy or Collingwood for brunches or pub dinners. Managers fantastic and on site. We will definitely return.

This was my email to the hotel after our stay and they didn't bother to respondDear Sir/Madam,We stayed at your hotel from 24th Feb to 4th Mar'23. In regard to that, the following are my complaints1. Lygon Front Suite - We paid premium to get an extra large suite but ended up getting a small room which was not that comfortable throughout the stay period2. Daily room service - It was supposed to be daily room service but the room was done only two times during the 8 nights stay3. Towels - Towels weren't provided regularly and we had to call multiple times to get only two times of replacement4. Free Wifi - It was mentioned that wifi will be available free for the stay but we had problems from day 1 to the end in getting wifi access. They gave us another wifi after repeated requests5. Washing machine and dryer - We couldn't wash our clothes as the dryer was under repair from the beginning. Finally, after repeated reminders we got one night of wash from the industrial dryer6. Parking - No parking was given. When one of my friend was visiting us, we had to request for a parking arrangement on temporary basis with a condition to leave within 2 hoursWe were unhappy during our period of stay. We were so busy managing our issues for the admission to the University of Melbourne, we didn't complain until the last day. I will appreciate it f you can arrange to pay me the difference between what you charged for a premium suite and what was actually given to me with all the above issues.regards,Mohammed Qadeer

Pros :Excellent locationGreat reliable wifiSparkling clean roomRoom with a balconyCons :Size of the room, it was tiny - the bathroom was oddly large compared to the rest of the room, such a poor room design.Freezing cold. It was so cold inside the room and throughout the hotel that we had to sleep with the Air Con heater on at 28 degrees all night and the room temperature barely reached 18degrees.Overall I'd say that they're trying their best and the hotel is very well maintained, however for $130/night there are much better value options with larger rooms, better quality beds and properly heated rooms in Carlton, Fitzroy and CBD area.Will not stay again.

Carlton Lygon Lodge was truly amazing! The staff is wonderful! Staying at Lygon Lodge is really truly like staying with friends - even like staying with family:) Perfect Location. Walking distance to many wonderful places in Melbourne. Our room was very clean and provided every thing we needed. The beds were very comfortable also. I would highly recommend the Carlton Lygon Lodge! 5 Star PLUS!

Very comfortable hotel. Everything you could need. Great location close to cafes and parks just a stroll into the city centre. Very helpful friendly staff. We shall return.

Carlton Lygon Lodge
Fantastic service, comfy beds and a lovely self contained room. The shower was amazing and the balcony was a bonus. Very quiet and convenient stay. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. FREE Parking on site was a bonus. Centrally located clean and affordable accomodation.
