UCF has provided three grants to the charity I founded, Human & Hope. They have supported vocational training and agriculture projects so families can break the cycle of poverty in Cambodia. I really appreciate that they fund both local and international projects.

With grants from UCF our small, Adelaide-based development organisation, Community Action for People with Disabilities in Africa (CAPDA) has been able to contribute much needed support for initiatives from two of our partner organisations in Tanzania. The first UCF grant enabled CAPDA to support the participation of 35 children with disabilities, each with a parent or caregiver, in a week-long, live-in, intensive diagnostic and educational program. These workshops help parents and caregivers understand the nature of their child’s disability and develop their skills to manage it. The second grant from UCF has funded a workshop to manufacture, repair and maintain wheelchairs at one of our partner organisations. These contributions make a big difference for people living with disabilities. We found applying for a UCF grant to be an easy and simple process, as was grant acquittal. Our congratulations and appreciation to UCF for the great job you do to ‘pay it forward’!

The Nappy Collective team is grateful for the support from Universal Charitable Fund. The Nappy Collective started as a group of mums who found a handful of nappies that their toddlers did not fit into anymore. After considering the options of what to do with only six nappies – pass them onto a friend? Keep them for the next child? Throw them out - what a waste! - they began to wonder if there were other parents out there that also had a handful or even half a box of nappies they were unable to use. What if we were able to collect all these left over nappies and distribute them to families in crisis or in need? Collectively these handfuls of nappies could make a big difference. In October 2013, The Nappy Collective launched its first Collective via Facebook. We were overwhelmed with the response. Within two weeks, over 1,500 nappies had been collected. It is because of the support of organisations like Universal Charitable Fund we have been able to expand right across Australia, bringing our total tally of nappies redistributed to families in need to over 4 million!

Hoofbeats Sanctuary was awarded a grant from UCF in 2022 in support of our Pony Tales Reading Program - an early intervention literacy program for children impacted by trauma. UCF has been an invaluable source of support for our organisation several times over the last five years and we are incredibly grateful. Charitable organisations like ours rely on grant funding to provide support for our communities and the team at UCF has been amazing in assisting us to do that work.
