Love this place and it’s just down the road from my house. I’ve found several of my favourite outfits from here, great for my uni stationary and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.

So we callled up, asked if we could recycle some boxes, which is 3 small cardboard boxes from IKEA. They said that was fine, and when we got there, we realized it is most definitely not a recycling centre but a full on op shop.Once we got there, they said it would be $10!Like whaaaat? You didn’t mention this on the phone when I told you how much we were bringing!?Then I looked around at the prices for things.. they were charging a whopping $45 (marked down from $99) for a 4-slice toaster, $30 for landline corded telephones, and astronomical prices for pretty much every piece of archaic junk in that place. This ‘recycling centre’ is a waste of your time and money if what you’re actually looking for is a recycling centre.Bandits!

We are hugely inspired by the ethics of the Green Collect team. As a fellow social enterprise focusing on diverting the waste from landfill we admire how Green Collect actually focus on the problem waste streams which are difficult to recycle. They have wonderful rates of reuse and also create good, every step of the way. Thanks for existing and inspiring others, Green Collect. Melbourne should be very proud! Greencollect wants to charge me $2.60 per kg for me to donate my Blu ray player and a netgear modem - both in good condition. Glad that I said no to paying $10 to give away the items because it didn't sound logical to me. I found out later that I could put them in the Purple ewaste recycle bins that are provided by the Council. These bins are available in various locations.

Pack of charlatans. Tell you over the phone that you'll be able to recycle your old clothing there. Once you get there they say no. I think it's just to get people in the shop. They only take donations" but then don't offer discounts
