Had a pretty poor experience with this business. Needed one LED light changed. The electrician arrived and spent about 20 minutes attempting to pitch a$3,000 job to fix up all the lights. After numerous back and forth, I finally convinced him to do the job we needed.We had a $60 voucher, which he said we could use and then we got to payment said we were not allowed to use. I could have pushed harder but just wanted to guy out the house so I could get on with my work day.The actual work was fine and speedy. No problems on quality. But a really bad experience if you just want a small job done.Follow-up Comment:Within half an hour of posting this review I received a call from their customer service team. They apologized for the experience, and applied the discount. The final cost to get one LED changed was $135. The $60 voucher covered the call-out fee...

Hugh and his team helped us with a bunch of small to medium electrical jobs around the house. I found them personable, professional and so easy to deal with. Easy to schedule, sms updates on when the guys were going to arrive. Once Hugh and the guys were here super helpful advice and can-do approach on what to do for the immediate jobs and additional questions I asked around the house. Have used different electricians in the past with mixed results. These guys were great! Go with them.

I now have had two experiences with Ruttley services and on each occasion the information about what was needed, the requirements and the costs were well explained to me. The work was done efficiently and well and as an individual I was treated with courtesy and consideration. I will use them in the future.

I have been helping my elderly Mum (95 years) with various repairs to her house due to age and storms. She wanted me to use Ruttley as they are ‘nice boys and wonderful to use’. I agree. They are trust worthy, clear, hardworking and very fair. They explain what needs to be done and why and do not take advantage of the situation. I would recommend them without reservation

I found Ruttley company to be very professional. From first contact on phone to workman Will who was very efficient, respectful and did a quick job. I would recommend Ruttley’s to my associates and family.

Arrived promptly, explained charges and once accepted set about finding the fault. Replaced faulty light with LED and we decided to replace all the remaining neon lights with LEDs. Very happy with Hugh who is very obliging and pleasant to deal with.

Sean did a fantastic job today as usual! He has been to our house a couple of times and he is great and fixed the issue quickly thank you!

Richard was very prompt in visiting & quoting for the plumbing I needed attention to. He & his assistants were very polite, professional & tidy & left relatively nothing for me to do after they left. They just completed work at my 85 year old mother's place. When the plumber arrived he quoted $429 to service the leaking tap. He also suggested that she change the taps to washer less for over $1000. I think this ($429) quote is way too high and, in my view, they were the trying to take advantage of an elderly person, unless I am mistaken and $429 is OK for a leaking tap? Note he eventually did it for $200 when my mother said 'no' to the quote - this is appreciated. What my review is based on is the $429 quote.Follow up after company comment:I don't do many reviews but felt compelled to in this instance and I certainly wouldn't make a follow up comment, except for the fact that I am offended by the response ('...common theme here'). I spent a long time on the phone to Ruttley politely and patiently explaining the situation, as they tried to get me to change my review. I did mention that in recent months other companies had behaved similarly - an electrician charging $850 to change one light in a room to a brighter light (basic oyster shell fitting). I have not reviewed online or complained about these companies. This was part of what I thought was a private discussion with the person at Ruttley. My review is simply based on the $429 initial on site quote to fix a leaking tap for a legally blind 85 year old living alone.
