Affinity Dog Training & Behaviour Modification

We highly recommend Christian from Affinity Dog Training! Christian took the time to sit and discuss our challenges with our new little puppy. He was able to give us great advice and demonstrations on how to deal with these issues. Christian was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. It was wonderful to see how he could train a puppy without treats. We would definitely recommend Christian to anyone having any puppy issues! We can't thank him enough for all his help! We had a challenge with a boisterous 30kg 1 year old standard poodle that wasn't listening, staying, and constantly pulled on the lead. When our dog returned, his behaviour was completely different. He listens, stays, and walks very nicely and is able to be the part of the family that we wished for. If you are reading this review, you have found the right place to get the results you need.

I sent my 5 year old reactive German Shepherd Sam to Chris’ 10 day board & train program and my dog has come back a completely different dog !! Sam used to bark at anything and everything when left outside, reactive to people & animals, now he is so much more calmer, and rarely barks outside unless necessary !His training is simple yet extremely effective, he’s done the hard work with Sam and all we have to do now is maintain this which is much easier than trying to correct the behaviours from scratch yourself if you don’t know what you’re doing (like me).He spends so much time with you after the training to go through all the training in detail and to answer any questions you have. He is extremely knowledgeable in his field and really ensures you understand how to maintain the training and even watches you do the training to ensure you’re doing it correctly.I can’t thank Chris enough for what he has done for both Sam and us. I have been to many trainers over the years however Chris has by far been THE BEST. I can’t recommend him enough he really has changed our lives, I never thought in a million years we could have friends/family over with a calm dog just laying on the grass minding his business !!

Christian you are simply fantastic and your emphasis on building a strong, trusting relationship with our toy poodle Ripley is just what we needed. We now have a great dog who has gone from crazy, wilful and destructive to obedient, happy, calm and well behaved. We have learnt so much and have confidence that we can continue the great training you have given us and Ripley together. I recommend anyone who wants a great relationship with their dog to get in touch with you. Thank you again!

TL;DR: Worth it, best trainer in Sydney.I sent my dog Luna to board and train for 10 days with Christian in February 2023. He sent through regular updates throughout the stay and at the end he had a training session with us in our home.I was initially very nervous to have Luna stay at a board and train, as I had heard terribly things about boarding places, especially the high rated big ones in Sydney. But I made the right decision because I could tell Luna was happy and was treated very well.She came back miles and miles better than where she was before the board and train. She is a schnauzer with significant barking problems, and she came back more behaved, but also a calmer, happier dog. Even though I initially found the cost expensive, especially in this economy, it was worth every cent and probably more. In the end, this has saved me money - there are many trainers that charge hundreds or thousands and will spend a couple of hours with you and your dog. Without the constant attention during a board and train, it would have taken months or a whole year.Christian is also probably the nicest trainer I have met. I find that many are very condescending or judgey towards owners, but Christian was the opposite. He was also open to my million questions, which I appreciated. I have recommended him to everyone I know, and will be sending my other dog for board and train when we are able to.

We recently placed our 9 month old female GSP, Vivi with Christian for the 21 day program.Despite being experienced GSP owners, we were truly at the end of our tether. We were unsure how to help her or ourselves. She wasn’t growing out of the chewing stage, jumping on us and everyone else, digging trenches in the backyard and despite multiple walks or park sessions per day, we were not providing adequate stimulation.At a loss, I contacted Christian who was very reassuring and gave me a full overview of the training and answered all my questions.Christian mastered fundamental training with Vivi. Her jumping has almost subsided completely. She sits and drops with distractions around her. The training session at pick up time was so good and we have continued building from there. It’s had a positive impact on our lives! The cost is big but well worth it for the outcome!

Wow!! What can I say!?! Our experience with Affinity Dog been nothing short of incredible. Christian really is a miracle worker! My husband & I thought that constant cuts & scratches on our hands & feet was going to be the norm for a very long time. Not only has the biting / nipping ceased, but so too has the jumping. Our pup is so much calmer. We keep thinking we are in a dream!! Ten days later & we couldn't be happier. Thank you Christian!!

Christain is an amazing calm gentle man. His ability to calm,and train,dogs is just magic. He completely changed my little hypo dog who use to walk me down the street and would not do as she was told at all to a calm well behaved dog who follows all the instructions I ask of her. I would recommend Christian to anyone with a problem dog. HES REMARKABLE. I thoroughly recommend Affinity training to anyone who has a problem with their dog. They will b well taken care of and trained without treats. Great place.

Before training with Christian our rescue dog Zeus was impossible to walk on the lead, and beyond over exited around any animal with a heart beat! He's come such a long way! He no longer pulls, and is learning that being calm and relaxed around other dogs will get him everywhere in life! It was the best decision for us and Zeus to invest in some professional training, we're all happier for it! I'd recommend Christian to anyone needing help with some challenging dog behaviours.

The best thing we did was call Christian to help us with our dog. She was so reactive out in public & had no manners at all. She would pull so hard on a lead that we just couldn't take her out & we just didn't know what to do anymore. Christian not only is amazing with dogs, but he is really good at teaching us humans the skills required to ensure you're doing all the right things . he spent a lot of time not only teaching our furry friend but also ensuring we understood the strategies & how dogs think. After the first of 4 lessons we already saw a huge change & a totally different dog. We can now walk her & we know how to control her in situations where there might be a dog or a distraction. If you have a dog that is stressing you out, the best thing you can do is invest in Christian's services.
