Sandy Creek Falls
The drive in was Sandy and had a water crossing which was about 500mm deep. Easy.On the way in we saw huge termite mounds and some lovely countryside. The walk in and out was around 1600m each way over paths, 2 bridges and some rocky terrain. There was one small water crossing which could easily be done without getting wet. When we arrived at the waterfall, we were amazed at how beautiful it was. There would have been maybe 20 other people there. After dumping our bags on a rock we entered the water.Be prepared to brace yourself for the cold! It was chilly but after a few minutes I didn’t notice it much.We stayed for maybe 40 minutes or so in the water before making our way back.We loved it here and would highly recommend it if you are able to access it.

Bit of trek in along a goat track style path but well worth it. I always take a pool noodle and a bag of refreshments/snacks.

Fair walk in to the falls, but there are some pretty spots along the way too. The water is a little cool, especially once it's in the shade. Go in the afternoon to see the sun on the falls.

Lovely waterfall. Walk is a fairly easy 1.7km, it is scenic and not too many people. Water is easy to access but is cold.

Beautiful spot only accessible by 4wd and a bit of a walk to get there but definitely worth it. Our favourite spot in Litchfield.

Sandy Creek Falls
Great spot for camping, the track to the campsight though can be challening with a reasonably deep river crossing. A snorkel is recommended, we saw a Mazda Tribute drown itself in about 60cm of water, that was in July as well, so well in to the dry season. My mitsibishi challenger got through fine without a snorkel, but i wouldn't be going through anything deeper anytime soon, i was a little scared.Well worth it for the waterfall though, check my photos!!

Sandy Creek Falls
Incredible place! Favourite waterfall and swimming hole in Litchfield. Beautiful spot which you can only reach with 4WD. That includes a cool water / river crossing. Hike to get there from the car park and camp ground isn’t too hard
