3.6 - Made a special trip to come and try this place. I didn't really see anything unique? I had a Fish Burger ($8.50) and small fries ($4.80). The loveliest and most polite staff serving! My Fish burger didn't have much taste, nor did the coleslaw in it, so you know if anything, it is healthy. I usually love my chips with no salt but heaps of tomato sauce. I didn't see any bottles of sauce to squeeze, only tiny packets of sauce for 30 cents. Total $13.30. Good Value, which is why it is quite popular.

Good variety of Salads and fishes and other seafood snacks like calamari and baby octopus. Seafood salad was one of the best that I've ever had.Serving salad with fish was not really in my interest as the salad was served in foil.

Old English Fish 'N' Chips
I had grilled cod and my mum had salmon with salads. Greek salad was very fresh and fish was grilled to perfection. Service was great too! Will be back for a healthy meal

We recently engaged old fish and chip shop to cater for our son’s 21st. I can only give a 5 star review however I would gladly give a 10 star. How I got to this rating? Easy:1. Faras and teams professional customer service was exceptional. Their experience in providing seafood for catering was spot on. They provided advise on seafood suggestions and amounts based on numbers.2. Food quality exceptional. All cooked food was fresh, hot and crispy. Fish contains and calamari was scooped up by the crowed, finger licking good.Faras, you and your team are ace. Thank you for making our special day tasty !!

The plain burger is a traditional Aussie style burger with grilled onions and beetroot. The beef patty is nicely seasoned and very tasty. The chips are crispy on the outside and light and fluffy inside.

As a Englishman this is the best fish and chip shop I've been to in Australia in the 6 years I've been here! Sensational customer service and not to mention the best curry sauce around ;)

Update May 2022:Not sure if the place has changed owners or the sunday crew wasn't the A team but the quality has fallen. The fish I ordered was cooked but the batter was still raw on the inside. I don't know how that is possible. The oil they used tasted a few days old.I used to consider this place one of the best fish n chips on the North shore, I'm sorry to say this is no longer. Please up your game the store still has great potential.----------Earlier review:Simply the best around

Was quite surprised as this shop has great reviews. Had to wait along time for just a Jewish and chips. The issue was no one had let me know my order was ready even though I was the only customer waiting on a order and there was five staff. The fish was over cooked and chips were undercooked and a little cold.

Old English Fish 'N' Chips
This is the second time that I have received uncooked fish. Now in addition to receiving uncooked food it is the wrong type of fish. I have no problem paying the price, however receiving the wrong food that is uncooked is just unacceptable.I'm pleased that I received a call from the owner. He offered to replace the food. We have a difference of opinion about the fish received previously being uncooked, however well done for reaching out to me.
