Quamby Homestead

We looked forward to our stay here, the website sold it to us, free wifi, guest lounge etc, etc. We arrived on a particular hot day (mid 30's) and rang the doorbell for the area labeled reception. The owner appeared after a few minutes with portable eftpos machine in hand and said to my wife and I, that my credit card wouldn't work. Now I had booked to pay on arrival, I found it odd that she had tried to access my funds early. I explained that my bank had put a hold on that particular card due to some suspected fraudulent payments that seemed odd. I wonder if this was one of them. We paid her on the verandah, at no time were we invited inside to escape the heat. We drove down to the room we had booked, first impressions were not good as the area outside of the rooms were covered in bird droppings, the door of the room next to ours was splattered with them. Our continental breakfast for the next morning was already waiting for us, a banana, orange and apple, along with half a loaf of bread sat upon the shelf under the tv. We read the hotels guidebook to find that the guest room in the house was no longer available nor was the free wifi. The shower floor was dusty and covered in dead insects, turning on the light above the bed only highlighted all the dead insects in the light shade. The room was dusty, but the worst thing of all was our breakfast cereal and milk for it as well as the coffee was out of date, some by 6 months. We left at first light the next day. Avoid this place.

Stayed early this year for our 50th wedding anniversary. We have stayed there in earlier years was fantastic then. Very disappointing school house had dust, cobwebs everywhere, dead spiders in bath etc. Very sad time.

We enjoyed an overnight stay. Lovely tranquil setting. Ample breakfast provided, comfortable and reasonably spacious room. Will stay there again if in that neighbourhood.

Great rural location, peaceful surroundings. Stayed in the characterful School house which backed onto to a picturesque dam surrounded by sheep. Would happily return some day.

Great room, fantastic gardens and country atmosphere. Our host pointed us in the direction of dinner at the recently renovated local Hotel.

Nice rooms and beautiful views in a tranquil country setting. Very relaxing weekend.

My daughter had her wedding there the grounds were absolutely beautiful we stayed there the night before and the rooms were excellent

For a quiet, rural get away you can't go past this rural retreat". A comfortable distance from many larger centres in the district. The current Autumn colours are spectacular"

Very quick in taking the booking fee or the accomodation charges. On arrival found the place full of flies in the verandah of the property owners house leading to the cottages in which we were to stay. We were handed a key to a cottage to stay in. Upon opening the door found dust on the floor, webs, and an old house smell. Very unfriendly hosts. The wife seems to run the show and very bossy. I lost my accomodation charges as the bossy lady did not refund a cent. God bless, hope she will be rich with that. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE.

Beautiful venue for a wedding. My daughter was married here on 7th December and the venue was picture perfect. Gardens immaculate and the generosity of Quamby owners was outstanding. Thank you for making our day extremely memorable.
