Cootamundra Heritage Centre
One of the must visit places while you’re in Cootamundra!Right across the train station, don’t be deceived by its vintage looks from the facade, inside the museum lies a treasure trove of surprises with memorabilia from the region’s past that will surely take you back down memory lane. Allow approximately 25 minutes to thoroughly look at the exhibits and there is complimentary tea/coffee as well. The staff are lovely with good knowledge of the region’s history!Open Monday to Sunday.

Cootamundra Heritage Centre
I really enjoyed coming here and looking at all the great history. My favorite thing in there was the slaves that came from Britain. The statues looked so life like behind the glass, and they moved to! When I tapped on the glass they leaped towards me and began bagging on the glass. Scary! Then a guy went in there with a whip and scarred them from the glass. So realistic, I recommend this place to everyone wishing to explore the great Australian history.

The best thing about this museum was the people who make IT happen. All volunteers and aLL very proud of their town. Coota is a lovely place, if you have the chance, make the trip/detour, The road from the expressway is excellent and will suit most car enthusiasts, just be careful. NSW HP ;-)

Definitely one of the best, if not THE best museums I've visited. Organised in small rooms of information, atrifacts, and meaningful displays I did not become overwhelmed with meaningless information as I usually do in much smaller museums. All info and artefacts were categorised deliberately to make the flow of info more meaningful. Found at the Visitor Information Centre, this unassuming community museum is a Must Stop!
